Just how hard is it to plan the perfect wedding? I wouldn't know, I've never actually made it that far, but
over the past couple of years, as more and more of my friends have gotten married, and as I watch my little sister go
through the steps leading up to hers this fall, I do agree with Marshall: you never cross the bride! Doing so can
topple the delicate house of cards that is a wedding to begin with. Unfortunately, that's exactly what our lovelorn
hero Ted did last night, all for the attention of a girl. Come on guys, we would never do anything stupid just for a
girl, right? Right? On with the show! The episode started with Ted making a decision every single guy dreads: how to mark yourself down for a wedding. Are
you coming alone? Or are you plus one? It sucks, and is much harder than you would think. Trust me. Well, just for good
measure, Ted marked down "plus one". Flash forward three months, and Ted still had no girlfriend. He'd like to
ask Robin, of course, but she had a boyfriend. Good thing for Ted they had just broken up! Ted finally got up the nerve,
and against everyone else's adivce, asked her. Much to everyone's suprise, most of all Ted's, Robin said yes. She
and Lily immediately took off to find a dress that would show off her "a-game". Then, on his way home, Ted
ran into the bride-to-be Claudia, and started chatting about the wedding. It's then that Ted's told he marked down that
he'd be coming alone, and Claudia will not budge.
Not wanting to lose an opportunity to go out on a date with
Robin (let alone one she's excited about), Ted went to Stuart (the husband-to-be) and asked if he could bring a
"plus one". Stuart said sure, and while this may not have seemed like a big deal, it quickly spiraled out of
control when Claudia found out. Lives were threatened, money was about to be extorted; it was not a fun time. Then,
Marshall, who had gone with Ted to get Stuart back together with Claudia, told Stuart that if Claudia was really the
one, it should just be easy. Stuart and Claudia reconciled and the wedding was back on. When Ted went to pick up Robin,
she received a call at the last minute and was given a great opportunity to anchor the news. An opportunity she couldn't
pass up. Alone with Barney at the reception, Marshall's words rang in Ted's ears, and he realized that things shouldn't
be this difficult with Robin and maybe he should throw in the towel. As he thought this, he looked up and locked eyes
with Victoria.
Is this the mother in question?!?! I don't know for sure, but I'm gonna say no. I bet Ashley
Williams (who is going to be on the show for a couple episode arc) will just be a serious girlfriend of Ted's who he'll
eventually split with. Until then, I can't wait to see how Robin's apparently burgeoning feelings for Ted play out as he
becomes serious with someone else. This has feelings of when Ross came back from China with Julie in tow at the end of
the first season of Friends. Will it follow the same path? Well, we do know
that Ted won't end up with Rachel Robin... Let me know what you
think.

Did anyone else notice that the wedding took place in Feb 2005?
Which implies that the new years episode was the 2004-2005 transition?
Which implies that the previous Barney get pshyched compilation (from the show) was the 2005 version?

I got a little nervous after the New Years episode that flopped, but they started 2006 STRONG. It was SUCH a great episode. This show rocks! And there is NO WAY that Victoria is the Mom. We can't find out who the Mom is...that would ruin everything. I love the Ross/Julie/Rachel idea....you could be onto something.

This show smacks of Friends. Ted is obviously Ross, Robin is Rachel, Doogie is Chandler (but more obnoxious), and the other two are a mix of Monica, Phoebe and Joey. The story last night just repeats the Ross/Rachel episode. They need to think up some new scripts.

Did anyone catch the fake name that Ted gave to Victoria's "Buttercup"? I couldn't get it but it got a big laugh in the studio audience.

The song when ted was dancing with buttercup was "You don't know me" by Michael Buble. Orginally done by Ray Charles covered by Jann Arden in My Best Friend's Wedding. It was also in the next episode and not this one. :)
