The Good Stuff
5. Lost: I really don't think this needs an explanation. Fantastic ensemble, great writing, interesting backstory... okay, so I gave an explanation.
4. Rescue Me: I would have never pegged Denis Leary as someone who could piece together a hit drama, but he's done it and season two was outstanding.
3. Entourage: This show gave me more one-liners to endlessly repeat from its second season than some shows give you in their entire run.
2. Nip/Tuck: If you don't watch this show then you're missing out. Seriously.
1. 24: I can't get enough of this show. I fall asleep with the DVDs on. Season 5, just a few more weeks. Deep breaths.
The Crap
5. E-Ring: It's been terrible but I'm still watching it so that when a great episode comes along I can point my finger and yell "I knew it!"
4. Alias: This only pertains to season four, because so far I've loved five. I've always been willing to buy in to the fantasy of Alias, but season four finally killed it for me with that giant red ball flying over Russia. They've had the Mueller device before... but this one was just enormous, way bigger than the others. I dunno, it was hard for me to roll with it. Seemed kind of cheap.
3. Close to Home: It kills me that this drew in more viewers than Threshold.
2. Inconceivable: I'm still crying. Horrible.
1. Nightstalker: I really can't believe they made comparisons of this show to The X-Files. One word comes to mind: poop.
Honorable Mentions
How I Met Your Mother, The Shield, Criminal Minds, Over*There, Grey's Anatomy, Threshold, Invasion, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, The Colbert Report

Curb Your Enthusiasm got an honorable mention? I thought almost everyone agreed that it was severely disappointing this season. The only episode I enjoyed was 'The Ski Lift', which was Curb back to its best. Most of the others were mediocre, and the finale was too long and boring.
Still, I think seasons 1-4 were outstanding.

Lost has too much backstory. I'd rather start seeing more action on the island. And where is Battlestar Galactica? Now there's some good watching!
