So how did you celebrate your Festivus?
We got some great entries for our Festivus contest, and our winner, Ben McMath (who e-mailed his entry), didn't just take a picture of how he was celebrating the holiday, he actually had a party, with invitations and everything! For his creativity and ambition (the pics don't do the party justice), Ben is the lucky winner of the cool Sumo Lounge Bean Bag Chair! Congrats, Ben!
Of course, if you entered the contest, we're giving each of you at least one star (our runners-up are getting two)! Ben gets 10 for his win. Thanks to everybody who entered (stars will updated soon).
Check out another one of Ben's pics and his description of the party after the jump.
This being our first holiday season on our own, my roommate and I decided to celebrate Festivus this year.
I am a huge Seinfeld fan and have always dreamed of having an authentic Festivus party and this year we did!
Obviously the first thing we needed was a pole. After a late night jaunt to the local hardware store, we had our pole.
Next was the party. We invited lots of friends and received a lot of "what the hell is Festivus?" responses,
but they agreed to come anyway. Our party was great. We introduced a lot of friends to the wonderful holiday that is Festivus. I must have told the story of how Mr. Costanza realized there must be another way while reigning blows upon another man in the toy store a hundred times. I greeted everyone at the door with a "Hi! Glad you could make it. Have you seen the pole?" We had a few small bouts of "Airing of Grievances" among our close friends and even had a "Feats of Strength" between my roommate and I. (I won, but he gave me one helluva rug burn!) Overall we had a great time. We enlightened many friends on the wonderful holiday of Festivus, we have a poll, and look forward to all the Festivus miracles still to come. You know it has been an awesome Festivus party when your roommate comes out the next morning wondering why his arms were duct-taped together when he woke up.
Happy Festivus to all!
-Ben
