Scrubs: My Right of Passage

This one is a Jordan-centric episode so if you're fans of Christa Miller you're in luck.

It seems Jordan is having some problems making friends at the hospital now that she works there full time. Not only is this bad for Jordan but it's bad for Perry since that means she's hanging out with him the whole time. She comes to the forefront because she's the latest to come into contact with Sammy the con artist (whom we met in an early season). He's giving her a story about not being able to afford to go his daughter's sixth birthday. After a while Turk recognizes him but Cox stops him from telling her, saying it's something she has to learn on her own if she's going to work at the hospital.J.D.'s experiences with his group of interns gets called into question when the Janitor tells him that they're only laughing at his jokes to kiss his butt. It's a tactic everyone uses, he says. You laugh at the jokes of the person above you. When J.D. asks Turk if a joke he tells is funny he finds out the Janitor is telling the truth. At the same time Dr. Kelso has been trying to convince him that treating interns like crap is a time-tested tradition. Cox certainly embraces it -- he's made his interns stand in the corner because someone used the phrase "Let's rock and roll."

Carla is wondering why Elliot hasn't asked her to come and visit at the new hospital Elliot is working at. When Carla does come - uninvited - she finds out why. She has a whole stockpile of stories about Elliot and a bad gossiping habit. When the two come together Elliot winds up with possibly the worst nickname of all time with her new co-workers. It doesn't really matter, though, since she finds out the creepy guy who shared her fellowship has all of a sudden cured the disease they were studying and she's out of a job. This is one story Carla manages to not tell J.D. and Turk, much to Elliot's surprise and pleasure since it saves her a good amount of embarrassment.

When Jordan finds out about Sammy the con man she's at first furious with Cox for not telling her. Until, that is, she realizes that having gotten taken by Sammy is kind of a rite of passage among the hospital employees. Being part of that group now gives her something in common with them and she realizes he let her fall for it for her own good.

Together these two episodes are a strong return for the show. Let's hope it keeps up the momentum.
