Many of us Prison Break fans have been a little
worried that we'd never see our show come back to TV, possibly destined for the TV graveyard. Well, good news comes
today, as a return date has been set for the show! Mark your calendars -- Prison Break returns to FOX on
Monday, March 20 (but at 8PM, not 9). Yeah, it's still a long wait, but it's better than nothing at
all at this point.[via tv filter]

Why did you think they were going to cancel it? Oh, yeah... Fox.

Fox or not, this show was never in danger of cancellation. It's a bona-fide hit. The only problem was finding a place for it in the schedule, with the January returns of American Idol and 24.

The "fall finale" was a cop-out ending that artificially kept them in prison for more episodes. Would it have made sense to the overall story to have them breakout and continue trying to solve the whole who-killed-the-VP's-brother-is-he-really-dead-what's-going-on-here thing while they're on the run? Couldn't they have still incorporated the other characters in this?
I suppose the producers are trying to stretch the breakout into a full season so they can work on solving the mystery next year.

Fox Exec #1: Hey, we've got a new hit show on our hands, what should we do with it?
Fox Exec #2: Let's shelve it for 3-4 months!
Fox Exec #1: Brilliant!
I hate FOX, despite liking many of their shows.

Oh, great, I'm so happy for us all. Let's see, March 20? That leaves plenty of time for Fox to cram more of the first half down our throats. Screw Arrested Development! Let's just keep running 2-hour blocks of Prison Break.
Never really gave the show a chance after the first couple episodes, but looks like I'll probably have the chance to catch this half at least one more time. Ugh, I'm already dreading February-March's promos for the second half.

How can this show be successful? It's entire premise is flawed and silly? The acting is BAD. The writing is so PC TV friendly. The cliches run rampant. Honestly, what the f#$k is the draw of this show?
The guy knows the layout of the prison, so he goes into the prison as a criminal? That's criminally STUPID! Even if his brother is innocent, he's still guilt of his bank robbery and nothing can change that fact. What he did was illegal and his brother's innocence has nothing to do with the fact he must serve time.
How the hell this crap stays on, I'll never understand.

I really like this show, however the only thing slower than it's return to tv is it's moving plotline :(

Sorry, Tucker - no PRISON BREAK reruns. Instead, you'll get a generous helping of SKATING WITH CELEBRITIES.
PRISON BREAK actually returns March 13th, with an encore of the 'fall finale.' New episodes start 3/20.

My bad, even better. Now I'm twice as excited to watch Fox in the coming weeks/months. Thanks for pointing that out, Tim!

Congratulations to PB cast, writers and crew for winning People's Choice Award for Best New Drama (take that BGDC). Bet you all came in a close second to Lost for a Golden Globe tonight.
Great show. Great work. You deserve the recognition. Looking forward to return in March.
