One of the funniest scenes in Say Anything is
where Lloyd Dobler, played by John Cusack, tries to get love advice from the guys that hang out behind the Gas 'n' Sip.
He's all broken up over his split with Diane, and thinks that maybe he should be just one of those guys who drink beer
out of a bag and rip on women. After the four guys tell Lloyd that women suck and they're hypocrites, blahblahblah, Lloyd just looks at them in pity and says: "I got a question. If you guys know so much about women, how come you're here at like the Gas 'n' Sip on a Saturday night completely alone drinking beers with no women anywhere?" Their answer? "By choice, man. Yeah, by choice!"
What I didn't remember about the scene, at least until I saw the movie on AMC today, was that one of the four Gas 'n' Sip guys was Jeremy Piven, star of HBO's Entourage as well other less successful TV series over the years (remember Cupid?). IMDb lists the character as "Mark," and it was the fourth movie role of what became a pretty extensive career. Interesting, huh? That tears it; I'm gonna work from home from now on.
Piven, by the way, also has a great line in that scene, which I'll give you below, courtesy of IMDb:
"Your only mistake is that you didn't dump her first. Diane Court is a show pony. You need a stallion, my friend. Walk with us and you walk tall."

If you're going to start working from home, you need to know the rules of watching old movies. Rule number one: If you see John Cusack in a film, look for Jeremy Piven. He's usually there.

I remember seeing Piven in, what I call cult classic, "P.S.U." It's not a great movie, but there's just something about it, that old overdone college mentality, that made me like it. He pulls of characters like that in PSU flawlessly.

Your all forgetting an important TV role he had before "Entourage". He was on "Ellen" (otherwise known as "These Friends of Mine") from 1995-98.

how about when he was in Singles "you are the king!!! you have to be there you must be there! (picking up the pregnancy test) although you might be busy."
he is funny in everything i've seen him in, even that movie Miami Rhapsody and the one with Mandy Moore and he's a Secret Service Agent. But PCU is one of the funniest and little known movies that he was in. he was soooo funny in that.

Didn't I mention Cupid, Stacy? And, Rich, I forgot about his time on Ellen. Though the show was a success, it really wasn't because of him.
Oh, and it looks like indeed Piven was in a lot of Cusack movies. It's good to have friends in high places.
