I'm almost wondering why some people would bother having a
television at this point. Two CBS sitcoms have joined the ever-growing list of television shows available either for
download or viewing online: Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother. Dubbed as CBS's "Comedy Bowl", starting today and ending January 2nd,
you're able to
view these shows via Yahoo! as streaming media, for free and without commercials. Previous episodes of each show
will be available for viewing next Monday, though it's not yet clear how far back they will go (since Two and a Half Men has prior season episodes as well). Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother now viewable online

this may explain why someone was poisoning torrents of Two and a Half men earler this year..
It's sad since I find it to be one of the most consistantly funny shows out there, yet it's not available on DVD.. which I would happily buy..

To bad I can't see the shows here in Portugal. Not even
through Yahoo!
When loading the page a error comes up:"Sorry, the content you are trying to play is not available for your region."
Looks like I still have to use torrents so see the shows if I'm interested.

Interesting that CBS chose Yahoo over iTunes, which would have given them a much larger audience of downloaders. That being said, it's nice to see some competitition in this area. Of course, you can't download them like you do with iTunes. None of the current list of MP3 players compatible with Yahoo Music Engine will play video. Of course, the other up-side is that the shows are free to watch in streaming video -- unlike iTunes.

They should ban streaming media in the law! Seriously, I much rather pay something for an episode and get it rather than stream it.
The only acceptable "streaming" is the way Apple does its trailers, you can pause it and wait until it's downloaded the whole trailer and then watch it. Cache, that's the key. There's nothing I hate more than jerky image and lagging audio. Pisses me off more than anything.

Annnd, of course, the only two episodes of How I Met Your Mother they're streaming are ones I've already seen. Think iTunes, CBS.
