Next spring FOX plans on airing the recent Family Guy DVD. Stewie
Griffin: The Untold Story was released back on September 27th, but FOX believes there is still some worth in
televising the DVD months after it hit store shelves. The episodes, when aired, will be split into three parts, which
is how they are pieced together on the DVD. It tells the story of Stewie's search for his real father. When FOX begins
to air promos for these "episodes" next spring, there will be little to no reference that they are indeed
being drawn from the DVD. I don't really see a problem with this; I mean, it is Family Guy, which people are
going to watch no matter what... even if this does seem a little backwards going from DVD to TV and not the other way
around.FOX plans to air Family Guy DVD

I think it was worth my $20 just to hear Stewie say "F*ck."

It was worth my 10 bucks the day after Thanksgiving to hear Stewie and the family curse.
If they were to air the movie whole and not split up it up into the respective episodes, then they would get more viewers. But that's what I think.

the movie has an overarching plot and I dont see how it can be effectively re-split into 3 parts after the parts were so intermingled to create a solid movie. How would they explain future stewie's apperance in the first episode, which doesn't get explained until the third part. It would make much more sense to play it as a movie on for 2 hrs straight with commercials.

It should be easy to do, as you can see all sorts of subplots that start and end in each segement ("Grinds My Gears", TiVo, Ron, etc), and things that still carry over.
