Remember when David Letterman had that nutcase running
around his house, claiming to be Mrs. Letterman? Well, looks like he's got another nutjob in love with him. Except now,
she's actually got the courts on her side! A New Mexico judge has issued a temporary restraining order against
Dave, ordering him to not only stay nine feet away from local resident Colleen Nestler, but to no longer, as she puts
it, "think of me, and release me from his mental harassment and hammering."This woman has claimed that Letterman is expressing his desire for her through code words, signals and eye gestures. One such code word? Oprah, as in "Marry me, Oprah."
Letterman's lawyers are trying to get the order rescinded. He should also seek money from the state court in Santa Fe, too, because the fact that the judge even bothered to listen to this woman is costing Dave a LOT of money.

What? Can you get a restraining order against anyone for anything? I'm not sure who's trying harder to get famous out of this--Colleen Nestler or the judge.

I'm a lawyer so I feel confident in commenting on this. Any judge that would issue such a restraining order is a boob. A nincompoop. Come on, total bull shit. This gives lawyers a bad name, the legal process a bad name. That judge has no business being a judge.

*This* gives lawyers and judges a bad name? As opposed the the other 200+ years of tax-wasting activity like this. Yep, someone wants to see their name up in lights ... time for the straight jacket on her and this activist judge.

Why is everyone outraged? We as a society have accepted this stuff for the past 30 years.
This is not an unusual case this is in fact quite the norm. I have talked with literally thousands of men across the country who have faced this situation. A woman can get a restraining order against anyone she chooses and all she has to do is say I am afraid - no further evidence needed - this case shows this all to well. We can thank the DV industry who are crowing about this case as an example of the system working. Too bad most men thrown out of their homes and onto the streets based on crap like this don't have the money to get a lawyer to quash it.
welcome to the future men, next up will be the gulags and ovens. It's not an if its a when.
