Catchphrase this

A couple of weeks ago, when I was on vacation,  Sarah graciously stepped in and reviewed How I Met Your Mother. In her review, she mentioned that she could have spent the entire article quoting the show. I've often said the same thing in my own reviews, and "Barneyisms" such as "De-wait for it-nied", have quickly become a part of my group of friends' vocabulary. Apparently we aren't the only ones who have noticed; via the New York Metro comes this article all about catchphrases (using HIMYM as a case study), and their dodgey history. In it, the author talks about how they're not quite as self-aware like back in the days of "What you talkin' bout Willis" or "I love it when a plan comes together," but are still an effective tool for gaining a loyal audience for a new show. Now, I'm sure my loyal and keen-eyed readers have noticed that I have a couple of my own catchphrases around here, so "Suit up" and let me know what you think.
