One of, if not the greatest parts of
Arrested Development is the layers their jokes have. Everytime you think they've reached the final punchline,
they throw one more at you. It's like a comedy snowball rolling downhill at you, and there's no escape. Now, I've heard
a lot of people say that one of their reasons for not watching Arrested Development is because it's too
"daunting". They haven't watched it since the beginning and they don't think they'd get it now. Well, Dave, a
buddy of mine, was over last night and had never seen a single episode. I think he laughed harder than I did. So to all
those out there that haven't give this show a chance, I give it the "Dave Dunn seal of approval", take the plunge. On
with the show! This episode started with Gob's reinstatement at the Bluth Company. He's still making an annoyance out of himself, much to Michael's dismay, and suggested a "get rich quick scheme" to the company's board. Michael found out that it was really George Sr.'s idea and Gob simply suggested it because he was told to. Tired of his father always trying to sway Gob's life, Michael decided to help him start out on his own and open a franchised "Frozen Banana" stand. Gob opened it literally ten feet from the original stand. Frustrated, Michael helped George Michael at the original, and the two brothers quickly fell into a competition that ended with them at each other's throats. Realizing that their father was once again playing them against eachother, they decided to teach him a lesson.
They enlisted the help of J. Walter Weatherman, the one armed man who their father always used when making a point, and George Sr's immigrant handymen. They staged a fake kidnapping and pretended to take George Sr. to Columbia, but actually only moved him to the living room. While there, they let George Sr. think he was escaping and teaching them a lesson, but they were actually finally getting their father. Michael and Gob got into another fight, and during the tussle Michael was thrown over the balcony much to George Sr.'s horror. Michael actually landed on scaffolding a few feet down.
Well people, there you have it, this may be the second to last episode of Arrested Development. The episode scheduled to air on January 2nd is entitled S.O.B. (Save our Bluths) and is the show's big plea to the other networks to pick it up. As far as I know, it's also the last one to be filmed, because I don't think they've returned to set since Jason Bateman's throat surgery last month. Get as many people to watch this as you possibly can. There's still five more days -- we could get our Festivus wish!

I love how Buster got them all in the end. "And that's why you never use a one-armed man to teach someone a lesson." I didn't think Buster had it in him.

Bob Loblaw Law Blog! Priceless.
Best episode this season, and probably one the best of the series for those saying the show was going downhill lately. :)

They're filming the last episodes now, with Justine Bateman's guest-star episode being filmed this December.
