A Christmas spectacular indeed! This one easily cracks the top five best ATHF episodes. It had everything you could want: plenty of Carl, the Mooninites and Plutonians, and The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future. Plus, it was a double episode clocking in at around 22 minutes of Aqua Teen love. Things like this make me very happy.
So apparently Shake made a movie... maybe his Boost Mobile endorsement paid off? Being the nice cup that he is, we've got full access to some of the film's deleted scenes. Fortunately for us, the deleted scenes do make a complete story. Almost.
Instead of buying his mother food for the holidays, Carl has tricked out his car complete with Hypno-Rims, a tank that sprays fuzzy navel shots to anyone standing nearby, and a flashing sign that reads "I'm up for grabs." But Ignignokt and Err trash the car, and steal all the goods to put on the mothership. Now get ready for the one-liners. The mothership drives by, bouncing (they must have installed hydraulics), as Ignignokt yells out "Word up bitches, we're scoring big with your wheels." They run over the flashing sign, and it breaks. Now it reads "I have crabs." Carl isn't phased by it. "I do have crabs, you guys knew that though."
Err uses the Hypno-Rims to enslave Carl. They make him put a broomstick up his backside. Emory and Ogelthorpe show up too. Ogelthorpe thinks they should, "Make him tape his big fat hairy butt cheeks together. You know, so he couldn't poop. That would be funny." Please note, that at this point in the episode, I fell out of my chair because I was laughing so hard.
In the studio, where Shake is showing us the deleted scenes, Carl shows up and he still has the broomstick lodged in him. But why? Well the scene didn't come out the first time Shake explains, so it sounds like they sedated Carl and put the broomstick back up there to shoot the scene again. In the final deleted sequence, Shake is out to dinner with a prostitute at the same restaurant they frequent in the "Super Trivia" episode. In the episode's funniest, and most offensive line, Shake says to the prostitute, "Now fellate me as I eat this expensive ham." I'm laughing just typing that.
As great as this episode was, it's also sad because as far as I can tell it's the last new one until the movie comes out sometime next year. I've scoured the Internet trying to find something that says otherwise but I think this is all we're getting for now. So savor it folks. It's already got a reserved spot on my TiVO.

I'm always glad to see the Mooninites and the Plutonians, but the whole torturing Carl bit was just too gruesome for me.

Yes, the image of Carl constantly cutting a hunk out of his leg will haunt my dreams. Of all the crude and disturbing things I've seen on ATHF, that's the first one that actually made me kind feel a little sick.
But now I'm wondering to myself, is that a good or a bad thing?
