We told you a few months ago about NBC's new cable channel Sleuth, which will be a network devoted to crime and mystery shows and movies. Now we have a date for the launch: New Year's Day! And to celebrate that it's the "first" day, they are going to run a marathon of pilot episodes, including the first episodes of Magnum, P.I., Columbo, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, Simon and Simon, The A Team, JAG, and The Rockford Files.
The network will air the pilots in special blocks throughout the first week of January.

FInally we have an outlet for Richie Brockelman, Private
Eye. I could see a marathon that gives us the movie, both Rockford episodes featuring Richie, and all five episodes of the show. I'd tape the crap out of that.

How about some Police Squad? Or is that not NBC?

Well, I'm all for it, but they're definitely doing this on the cheap. It looks like they bought syndication rights to everything A&E has been running in its dead 2PM slot for the past ten years. All that's missing are Murder She Wrote and McMillan & Wife.

What's so incredibly great about this channel is that it's actually airing what is possibly the most unfairly canceled show of all time: EZ Streets. If they're willing to show that AND Homicide, I'm more than happy to sit through a little Simon and Simon.
