In what I can only term as a shocking finale to the fourth season of The Apprentice, Randall was hired by Donald Trump to oversee renovations at his Atlantic City casinos. That's not the shocking part, though. After Randall was hired, he went over and got hugs from the previously fired contestants, when all of a sudden Trump called him back to the board room table. Trump asked him if he thought Rebecca, the other finalist, should also be hired. Since Randall had always presented himself as a down-to-earth genuinely nice guy, I thought it was a slam-dunk for Rebecca that she would also be hired. Imagine my (and probably everyone else's) surprise then when he said absolutely not, that the show the was called, "THE Apprentice and not "The Apprenti." Randall had a golden opportunity to really present himself as the same kind of guy he had throught the course of the season. Instead he chose selfishness and pettiness and I'm more than a little disappointed. The Apprentice: Finale

Randall is SO getting some heat tomorrow morning on talk shows. Sounds like he wins the Prek of the Year award.

What a dick indeed. He never seemed to care about things, just winning. I do not understand this need to have a tough facade. There is being tough, but not a jerk, and then there is him.
I am from Minnesota, so I was cheering for Rebecca.

Randal is a selfish jerk, but i caught what Trump said: 'Okay, I'll leave it that way for tonight." he was taken aback by Randal, but I'll bet he hires Rebecca anyway. at least he'd better. it shows poor character if he does not.

Randall's education failed him. Trump set him up with the whole this is not about entertainment, this is business speech and the the first test he got he went for the entertainment value and held on to that spotlight all to himself. Randal it's about business. Rebecca was a great business choice. You're fired!

It's ok, he'll take heat for it walking around A.C. I know if I see him when I play at the Taj...I'll make sure to tell him hes a a$$. Jerzey people don't forget quickly. Have fun at your new job...even if you certainly didn't deserve it. Affirmative action at it's best. Blow the last few tasks and still win.

I think Randall did the right thing. How dare Donald Trump put him on the spot and ask him to share his shining moment with another person?! So, the runner up can share the same victory as I worked so hard for. Please!

I found it interesting that Trump questioned Rebecca's loyalty and then Randal impeached his own loyalty at the end. At that moment he was semi-officially a member of the Trump Organization. By choosing to preserve his personal glory rather than improve the company, he showed that he comes before his employer. If Trump had been a little quicker on his feet he should have fired Randal and hired Rebecca instead.
That said, I was strongly in Randal's corner before that moment.

Do you really think, she's not going to be hired tomorrow morning?
Randall said not tonight, trump said "I'll leave it at that for now,"
Randall may seem like an asshole, but if they were both hired tonight, and both got a year contract, they'd still be competing in essense.
We'll see what develops in the next few days...

I am shocked at how selfish Randall became there at the end. I was cheering him on the whole only to have my faith in him crushed at the last minute. With all his 'education' that Trump seemed to be emphasizing, he sure missed the fact that apprentice plural is actually "apprentices" not "apprenti". What a jerk.

What a jerk! I for one defended Randall, and actually he was my pick for the winner. After the finale I thought that Rebecca really "picked it up" in the end, and I was thinking that maybe she really out-shined Randall in the last task even though the charity envelopes had not come in yet.
I was appauled that when Randall was asked by Donald if he should hire Rebecca, Randall said no.
What a classless jerk. It was a job - not the title of apprentice. The job was not in competition with his - it was at a totally different location. I am so sorry I defended him now. Total classless.
In my opinion, Donald should hire Rebecca to be Randal's (the apprentice), manager or boss.

Randall showed a definete lack of social skills this evening. He took on a "I am better than anyone" attitude. I felt he totally blew all chances when he forgot to have a plan B. Yahoo ended up donating big big monies so Rebecca was able to raise monies. I think Donald Trump needs to hire Rebecca. She outshined Randall in manners and board room demeanor.

I had so much respect for both Randal and Rebecca and had thought, how nice it would be if Mr. Trump would hire both since this season has been full of surprises like firing 4 at one time. I TOTALLY lost my respect for Randal with how he acted tonight and what he did. The mature, smart ,caring man seem to be gone with 2 words, " Your Hired "
Shame on him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy really blew it. He is gonna be on everybody's hit list. His dead grandmother would have slapped his big nose all over the auditorium. And, Rebecca will come out with a better job in the company, and Randall will never, ever have the respect of his subordinates.....and looks like everyone will get what they deserve.

So far, I sounds like I'm in the minority - of us with common sense. Good Job Randall... YOU won -- not 'everybody's a winner crap' .. Mr. Trump made his choice. It should be final. It was the 2-Hour Finale.

In the future can you wait to post something like this till the WEST COAST has had it's shot to watch?! I started to read the post thinking it was some pre-show hype, and boom, it's ruined for me. My bad, but would it be so hard for you to hold off a few hours?

I am very proud of Randal!! He is not selfish! I am sickened by the negative comments. Donald Trump was completely out of line to ask that question of Randal. Hiring both of the them would be like naming two winners for the super bowl, simply because both teams played a good game. It would also be like naming Gore and Bush as President in the 2000 election...
I think both were strong players, but clearly Randal was stronger. As a winner of tough contest, Randal should have the pleasure of celebrating that he won... without being called a selfish dick!

OK, so I was as taken aback by Randall's selfish, unblinking, door-slam on Rebecca. After all, he won, he's in - there's nothing for him to lose, not even the spotlight. He was "The Apprentice" - he could have said "You can hire her, If I'm the Apprentice and she's the Apprentices' Apprentice." However, wake up Glen (and everyone else), this IS big business, dog eat dog, why would any "star" performer want another "star" performer competing with them. Every star employee spends at least 30-50% of their time at work scheming on how to knock down the closest rising star and put themselves above the rest. We saw it tonight: the classic "fire in the belly" salesman with the need to succeed any anyone's (even his own organization's) expense. It's cold, real-world cold.

I've been a "loyal" apprentice fan up until now. For the first time there were actually two candidates that were as exceptional as the first apprentice Bill Rancic. The intrigue for tonight's show was...will Donald as a man running an "empire" need only one star? Or will he do something interesting and reward exceptional talent when it comes in pairs? You can't tell me that Rebecca was a worse apprentice than the Kelly or Kendra.
What is this about the show being called "the apprentice" and how there can only be one winner? Are you out of your over-educated mind, Randal? You're the FOURTH!!!
This was an utter dissapointment as I felt Rebecca and Randal were both stars.
I guess Randal got an extra degree or two in arrogance and selfishness.
