I didn't put this in my late night show roundup earlier, but The Late, Late Show With Craig Ferguson is going to be live tonight, at 12:35 on CBS (at least on the east coast - not sure how these things work in the midwest and west coast). The guest are Jon Cryer and Amy Yasbeck.

Nothing other than sports and breaking news is ever live. Not even the network evening newscasts and morning shows. We always used to run a 2-hour-old CBS Evening News at the station I used to work at, because the management was too lazy to teach the master control ops to get the updated feed (when there was one).

Live TV is a stupid stunt. why would you want to watch a live show? to see if something goes wrong. I dont watch TV to see people mess up in their jobs. When I watch TV I want to see something polished and perfect. Look at saturday night live or those old live episodes of the Drew Carey Show. I dont want to watch actors giggling like morons while trying to supress it. The live episode of the West Wing sounded awful. I would have much rather seen a great well prepared slick show. Please dont show live episodic TV it is a lame gimmick that doesnt add anything good to the experience. Having said that talk shows sometimes provide entertaining live TV
