I think this may have been the first show that I truly got into and could say I was a fan of. UPN carried it back in 1995 and it ran for a full season, but didn't get renewed after that. Nowhere Man starred Bruce Greenwood as Tom Veil, a photojournalist who took a picture he shouldn't have taken. As a result, his life is erased. His wife doesn't recognize him, his funds have been depleted, and people want him dead. Unless he coughs up the negative for the photo causing all the uproar.

Oh yes... I remember watching this show every week and loving it... And now that it's coming to DVD I don't need to keep my stack of burned CDs with the episodes on them :-) This show really was a perfect example of taking a simple idea and making it into something great. I remember watching the last episode and they actually had a cliffhanger letting you know that "next season" some of the questions would start to get answered... And then next season never came! I had TV blueballs for years after that...

This was the lone bright spot on UPN among such other offerings as Richard Greico's "The Mark" (about some kinda chip that people would give him and he would do favors for them or something like that), and Christopher Lloyd's "Deadly Games" (Virtual Characters were harrasing some scientist - Lloyd was the main baddy).

This show and Voyager were the only things I watched on UPN. Nowhere Man ranks up there with Firefly, Now and Again and John Doe as shows I was completely hooked on that were cancelled after the first season. At least Firefly was given a conclusion albeit several years later.

This show came along at the same time I got Internet access via AOL. I found their BBs for 'Nowhere Man' and pounded out lots of verbiage over each episode. (Some of the other regulars in that BBs thought that a character in an episode guest-starring Maria Bello and Raye Birk might have been a shout-out to me, but I tend to doubt it.)
There were a couple of nice in-joke tips of the hat to its "fore-father": 'The Prisoner'.
As to the series finale, it wasn't so dire a cliff-hanger that I didn't come away with some satisfaction that it ended in some way. (Better to be a fan of 'Nowhere Man' than of 'Reunion', that's for sure!)
It was also the last show I ever obsessed over to the point of saving every episode on videotape. Now I usually expect that sooner or later all shows will make it to DVD.
Can't wait for the boxed set by the end of the month!

Actually, I thought the season finale wasn't really a cliffhanger, but a "shocking revelation" -- and a clever one that would have allowed the show, had it continued, to take on a whole new direction.
I was sad to see it wasn't renewed, but I must admit, this is one of very few shows where I was even MORE saddened after seeing the last episode.
Still, great way to go out if you can handle that sort of stress.

At least they're making somewhat of an effort to promote the DVD with some online marketing. Check out these sites:
