I don't know if we hit a wall with the show, or I'm trying to hate it now because I know it's going to be cancelled, but these last two weeks have been bad. Again this week, all the flashbacks happened within a single day. I actually like that format a lot, and think it works towards the benefit of the show. What was interesting was that it looks like a little bit of time has passed in the "present" since Sam's murder. Detective Marjorino has been thrown out of his home by his wife, and there's been enough time for grass to grow over Sam's grave. Of course, these could just be more oversights by the writers. On with the show!In the here and now, with everyone gathered around Sam's plot, a young man comes up and says that she deserved to die. With a little prodding, the boy tells the story of how, as a young doctor, Sam killed his mother. Luckily, Will was there visiting for Sam's birthday and surprise party, so he's able to set the kid straight. He did leave out the fact that Sam was hopped up on, apparenly, Jessie-Spano-strength caffeine pills. All Sam wanted for her birthday was for Craig to finally announce his running for state Congress, something he wasn't so sure he was going to do. Craig met up with Jenna as she was wrapping up a speech at their old high school. After wandering the halls together, they stumble across the file room and pilfer both of their permanent records.
Meanwhile, our two star crossed lovers still can't manage to work. Carla and Aaron finally decide to go on a date for later that night, but when Aaron stopped into his office to take care of something real quickly, he had a much bigger surprise waiting for him. Pascale, the girl from Prague years earlier, is waiting for him along with their daughter. Pascale just stopped by real quickly to introduce them, since she must return to France the next day because of her expiring visa. To keep his daughter with him, Aaron asked Pascale to marry him, and she accepted. At the bar where they were all supposed to meet for Sam's party, Carla showed up alone, but is introduced to her future husband. Awww... Oh yea, but he's dead now-a-days.
This wasn't a horrible episode, just not nearly as good as the first couple. The part where Jenna and Craig were looking through their permanent records and their teachers had them exactly pegged was probably supposed to be poignant, but came off as stupid. This is the kind of unnecessary crap that's making me frustrated with Reunion. Just tell a good story and the drama will come, no need to force feed it to us. Let me know what you think.
Shocks of the Week:
Aaron has a daughter
Aaron proposes
Craig & Jenna almost had a fling (many years earlier)
Carla's husband (HA! Mr. Holland) is dead

I actually liked this episode. I just don't like the year-per-day-per-episode format. Don't they go through much more? I mean, there ARE 12 months in one year. Anywho, the part where they showed Carla's husband's grave sent a chill up my spine. I am guessing he died from some disease...Cancer maybe? I was really moved by Aaron's decision on wanting to be apart of his daughter's life 'full-time'. You don't see much of that now-a-days; sperm-donors wanting to be Fathers.
When is the last episode? Next week? They should just throw the rest on iTunes.

Sorry to ask about this again:
Has the Will Estes interview been pulled since the show has been cancelled?
