While we've been hearing a lot lately about how ABC, NBC, and CBS are making their programming available online, FOX has been strangely quiet. Even now, instead of a press release or some grand announcement, today's news comes in the form of a whisper. At some conference in New York, the head of interactive media at FOX said in a speech that they are planning to create some original episodes of Family Guy for the web. He's not sure of distribution plans yet, but now that FOX owns MySpace and IGN, those are likely places to place video content. It could also appear on FOX.com. Just like the other networks, FOX will charge (about $2) for each downloaded episode. I'm wondering if these web-only Family Guy episodes will be more like the original ones. Remember the old days? Before Janet Jackson's boob got the FCC all uptight? I can't imagine that there would be any FCC restrictions on an internet-only version of Family Guy. I think I just added something to my Festivus list...FOX to produce web-only Family Guy episodes

Everyone I know agrees with me that the last 2 series have kicked the arse of the previous series.
Is this one of them odd cross-Atlantic discrepancies?
The original 2/3 series were fantastic, but I don't think they're flagging at all, but I have heard quite a lot of people, mainly American, that don't like the new stuff.
I have always thought though that the humour has a very British twist to it (in the vein of Python & Izzard)

Is this something we'll be hearing more about at, say, MACWORLD! Native content would be huge way to kickstart interest in iTunes TV downloads, especially if the Mac mini video hub thingie becomes a reality.
