Well, not good news for fans of good TV shows tonight, eh? What sanna said in the Alias post has been confirmed by Kristin over at E! Threshold has been canceled.
Weird timing. Not only did the show get moved to Tuesdays, but they also just signed Catherine Bell. Now she's gonna have to find another job.
More details here.

I'm never going to start watching a show that debuts on Friday night ever again.
I absolutely adored "Medical Investigation" last season. Gone.
"Jack and Bobby" buh bye.
Now this.
I knew their days were numbered when they kept getting the preempted shaft and then the move to Tuesdays (which of course was also preempted)
Well, hopefully they will run the rest of the season anyway.

I used to have a rule. Don't watch new shows until you're sure they will be renewed.
I broke that rule this year, and now one of my favorites is being canceled.

Why why why??? I swore I wasn't going to watch ANYTHING new this season because this always happens. Usually, though, it's FOX ripping my heart out. Not this time. This show hasn't even been given a decent chance :(

Oh, I don't know, now if Invasion goes down, then maybe surface has a chance to survive. And Surface is the only one of he sci-fi shows that I really wanted to survive. Threshold was ok. THe actors were solid, but considering the very creative set up the plots were formulaic and weak.

I am Soooo done with TV. It seems that anything that's just a little thought provoking is cancelled. Where as programing for the borderline retard runs for years and years...
I'm disgusted!!

I REALLY enjoy looking at Carla Gugino, but she's sort of a bad omen for TV shows. I hope she re-appears in something else soon.
Sorry to you "Threshold" fans for your loss.

While the show did become formulatic, it still kept my interest with good writing. It also had an eclectic cast that offset any formulatic premise.
"Usually, though, it's FOX ripping my heart out."
True, though if it were Fox, they probably would have ran it a full season.

The only way this is gonna work out for me is if they bring back Karen Sisco instead, that would be really awesome.
Is "According to Jim" still on the air?

This is a real shame. Threshold is, by far, the best of the sci-fi genre shows to premiere this season, and this last episode was fantastic. It really seemed like the show was getting into a fine groove, especially with the addition of Catherine Bell. Granted, the move to Tuesday night turned out be a disaster, actually losing two million viewers compared to its Friday timeslot, but you'd think CBS might give it a chance since several shows they already given the green light to for an entire season are barely doing better. I wonder if some cable network will pick it up? It would make a great addition to the Sci-Fi Channel, but it's probably too expensive for them. Most of their weekly shows are quality productions, but produced cheaply in Canada. The USA Network is also a good choice. It would do well between The 4400 and The Dead Zone. Even drawing half the audience it did on Tuesday would make it a breakout hit for USA. Oh, well, another great show bites the dust. We're back cop shows every day of the week.

"More details here", pah.
That's a one-liner post in a forum -- how reliable a report is that?
Sucks if it's true, though, because the move to Tuesdays had just set up a nice House/Threshold appointment for me...

I don't know what you guys smoking but the show is horrific. I know its a sci-fi show but at least have some semblance of logic. The last straw was when they showed a traffic jam and then zoomed out to show a overhead view of it ...the car lights formed the overused symbol of the show. How could they spin that into logic, I have no idea ...I quit watching after this.
The acting was miserable too ...especially the actor who is playing the director of threshold. He yell and scream out of the blue for no logical reason. Frankly, I am not surprised it got canceled. Kudos to CBS for picking out the lemons. The concept of the show was excellent but they failed in the execution.

Once again the very large idiots in network TV prove how stupid they are. Let's see Star Trek, Firefly, and now Threshold. I guess if it takes a couple bucks to make and it doesn't involve some so-called "reality" concept it doesn't stand a chance unless it places in the top ten. Well I got news for all of network TV and for all of you out there.
Network commercial TV is officially dead. I am calling it on November 28, 2005. The days of being able to count on your favorite show being on every week at a certain time are gone. And if the networks have no loyalty to their viewers than their viewers will return the favor.
So, goodbye commercials hello TiVo, goodbye idiotic mindless network crap hello good old series repackaged and sold on DVD.
I think I will go read a book.

AHHHH! This is a tragedy! They better air the rest of the episodes, or I will murder CBS. No joke. A DVD release might help too. It's going to take a long time for me to get over this. :'-(

Well the annoying part is that it was only given one shot on tuesday on the 22 no less. Did they not realize that the Xbox was comming out that day and that many of the people that would be watching the show were busy playing their new xbox or sleeping after waiting for 13 hours. ONE NIGHT ON TUESDAY WAS CRAP. On top of that i didnt even realize that it was moving to tuesday night until the 21St when i looked at my TV guide.
CBS is the New FOX

I give up on prime time TV. They care only about reality TV and ratings (it's obvious of course). I should have never fallen in love with Threshold. I wish i could find the execs who made this decision and personally pull their plug. Surface is retarded and terrible - Invasion is OK, but like a soap opera. Threshold was the perfect Sci-Fi show that showed some geekiness but also some great twist. Surely there are some people fighting for this show as we speak and maybe it will come back... until then - i hate prime time TV

I am devasted at the cancellation of Threshold, definately the best of the three new "sci-fi alien type" series this season. Surface is unwatchable, and Invasion is tiresome. It's Friday night, no competition, in a TIVO world, they could have at least let it run for the rest of the season.
