Now that Rachel Ray has four shows on FOOD Network, a magazine, and 8 cookbooks, she'll also be coming to an affiliate near you. As we learned last month, Oprah is producing a talk show starring Ray, which launches next fall. Well, it's being scooped up quickly by stations across the nation. The ABC affiliates in New York and Philadelphia just bought the show, which is also going to appear in LA, Chicago, Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Flint, Toledo, and Fresno. Don't worry, I'm sure at least one affiliate in your city/town is already in negotiations for the show, just like when Dr. Phil became syndicated (don't even get me started). I'm not sure if Ray's program is going to include cooking, but Ray describes it as "taking a bigger bite out of life".I'm just going to come out and say it: I will not be watching Rachel Ray's show. I don't hate her. She just bugs me. Okay, let the comments fly.

Oh, I hate her. Then again, I like a chef whose ambitions revolve around food rather than multimedia ubiquity.

I don't hate her but there is something about the way she speaks that is really tiring.

At first, she was an approachable (ok, and mildly annoying in an Elmo kind of way) home cook who had good ideas for parents like me with two kids who can't spend a lot of time and effort on dinner. I could put up with her excessively bubbly personality because some of the kitchen shortcuts she provided were actually useful. As usual, The Food Network took a good thing and absolutely crammed it down viewers' throats until they couldn't take it for another instant (can you say "Emeril?").
It's too bad. The Emeril-izing of Rachael Ray is almost complete.

Love her or hate her, she creates a buzz... and that's what commercial television is all about.
And her perkiness falls into the Katie Couric & Paige Davis category. But I'm pretty sure Rachael (yes, that's how she spells her name) has a better rags to riches story than those other two. She was highlighted in the 10/19/05 NY Times ("Being Rachael Ray: How Cool is That?")

Maybe it is just me, but my wife and I can't stop getting fixated on how odd her body is shaped. While we sometimes enjoy the lie of a show, 2 dollars a day, or whatever it is called. We just can't stop trying to figure out what is up with her body.
My theories are:
- Child gymanast?
- History of dwarfism
I happened to watch her cooking show last while waiting for dinner (cook thanksgiving meal in 30 mins, sure..) and sat their thinking the whole time who the hell dresses her. I realize that not all female celebrity chefs can be Nigella, but then again Nigella never graced the covers of stuff or maxim. I didn't dream that right? (seems like Rachel Ray in Maxim should be covered by some existing child pornography statute).
Anyhoo, I promise I am really not a superficial dink, but I think with all the money that the food network invests in Rachel they should at least make her less disturbing looking (not to say that they are doing any better with the Everyday Italian chick and her big head).
And yes, her voice and personality have me puncturing my eardrums...

She may be quirky/odd in many ways, but I am amazed how people love picking on her including a lot of you here. I am not saying she is the greatest, but she deserves some credit for coming to the point where she is now in her career. And you know what? Unlike any other cooking shows, she cooks in real time and actually makes those meals within the timeframe of her shows.

She is doing shows on food, why the hell does it matter what her body shape is? If she has done covers for magazine, that's her personal choice.
You find here irritating? You find her to be an eye sore? Well stop bitching about it and quit watching her show!

WOW. I didn't realize how many people in this world are so freakin judgemental and crititcal. You haters need to get a freakin heart. There are a lot of you unhappy people in this world & want to bring everyone down with them. Get a freakin life. This chick is a normal down to earth person who happens to have an explosive personality. She's excited about life & just because you all don't apreciate what life has to offer you hate on others who do. I really feel sorry for you poor pathetic saps. You people need to get over this jealousy & hate. Get laid or something.

Is she going to do more Burger King commercials? I think that sums it all up. Maybe another show about how speciality ingredients aren't that important. Of course not! She's a fast-foodie-fatty with no originality. She should be a spokesperson for Wal-Mart. Oh, wait, that's next... Buy her knives everyone -- they cut extra fast!! Yippee.
By the way, no snobbery intended, just a very clear picture of who this woman really is. Is she still posing for FHM - loved those skin shots. That's where this chick really shines :)
Love it! Go Oprah!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Don't hate me cuz I like good food.

I just couldn't stand it any longer. Rachel Ray came on the tube and I had to see if anyone else out there felt remotely as I did, and guess what, you all do. What a relief. Listening to her is like listening to a used car salesman. She has the mannerisims of a 1950's -1960's huckster. Between her language, her hand gesturing and her insessant giggleling, I have decided just NOT TO WATCH. Shame shame on The Food Network, to foist another "EmeriL" on the public. 'And that's all I have to say about that.'

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I just got it!!!!!!!!! The Food Network is just loving all this "hate" mail. It keeps the show going. If we find this person so annoying, let's stop writing about it and just stop watching..The more controversial mail is sent, the better the shows ratings will be. It's all about the numbers. So all of you out there, if you really can't stand her, do NOT continue to write about her, ignore the show and perhaps it will just silently fade away.
