Come on now, you haven't had enough Lost yet, have you? Of course not. At least that's what show producers Damon Lindelof and
Carlton Cuse are betting on. Soon you'll be able to watch 20-minute original episodes, sometimes called "mobisodes", from your cellphone. The shows are part of what's being called the Lost Video Diaries, which will introduce two new characters with their own storylines. The characters are not mentioned in the regularly broadcasted episodes on ABC, though the actions of the television show will reflect what you see in the mobisodes. The deal hasn't been officially announced yet (as to what carrier will have the episodes), though filming of the short clips is already underway in Hawaii.[via Cynopsis]

That's all well and good - except for those of us who don't own the technology to view the pod-casts, and can't afford to purchase new. So are we just left out in the cold?
I dearly hope all the pod casts will be included in the next DVD set.

a) They're not talking about podcasts
b) what "special technology" does anyone need to listen to a podcast?
and most important:
c) it sounds like this isn't going to do anything more than add a little cheeky bonus to the people who bother shell out for the service. I doubt any of us are going to sit there like "shit! they revealed everything about the hatch, but this episode was totally ruined because I didn't see what a character who's not actually on the TV show did in a 'straight-to-cellphone' clip."
Why do I feel like "straight-to-cell" is going to become the new, lower form of "straight-to-home video"?

Who cares? That last episode recounting the other survivors sucked ass.
