The casting director for this season's Top Model should really be fired. I know that Tyra claims that she has all the control over who gets cast, and she acts like she personally watches every video submission. But I know that someone else must be to blame. Here we are at week 9 and I'm still waiting for the girls to take it to the next level. For lack of a better cliched expression, I'm still waiting for them to Hulk-up. The show is now in London and typically when Top Model moves "overseas," that's the part of the season where things really get fierce. A true top model emerges. But this season, I have seen nothing of the sort.This week drunken Lisa was finally eliminated. Or as the UPN website puts it, "Lisa's Fire Extinguished." I must say that I found Lisa's elimination slightly lackluster. There was a time when I thought that Lisa could take it all the way to the end, but after a while I realized that her face was too old and her antics were too crazy. I imagined her eventual elimination going something like this: Lisa shows up drunk to a photo shoot, brandishing a flask filled with bath tub gin. During her shoot, she suddenly has to leave to take a pee break, but actually has a sexual tryst with a production assistant in the wardrobe closet. She returns to the shoot, sans panties, only to trip over a rogue piece of lighting equipment (placed strategically there by the other girls) and crashes through a glass coffee table -- ruining her chances of ever becoming a top model, but virtually securing a spot on Season 5 of The Surreal Life.
But it didn't happen like that at all. In fact, Lisa was pretty calm when eliminated. There were a few tears, but she remained positive about the whole experience. I find this bothersome since Lisa's elimination was a sham. There was absolutely no reason why Lisa should have been sent home this week. Jayla's picture was by far the worst picture. Lisa looked better in Jayla's picture than Jayla did. So why was Lisa sent packing and Jayla kept another week? Because Jayla had a better paparazzi picture? Who cares. I don't understand why Lisa was eliminated this week, but I know that the show is going to be the worse for the wear because Lisa was the only thing keeping the show alive.
The other "exciting" thing that happened on this week's episode was that the girls finally confronted Lesbian Kim on her gossiping. It was about time Lesbian Kim got called out on something other than having fat hips. The girls confront Kim about her catty behavior in the limo ride to the airport and all I have to say about that is -- holy crap Jayla has an awesome mean face. She looked intense with her eyes bulging out of her head and that finger pointy. I was legitimately frightened. That is a great mean face. I would hate to be her boyfriend. I would just crumble under its wrath. After the limo ride confrontation, Kim started to cry and apologized for her gossipy behavior. She even went so far as to write Nik a letter of apology later in the episode. Apparently her tears felt less than sincere to the girls because Brea was not buying the lesbian-version of the Crying Game.
The absolute best thing about this week's episode was saying on Miss J's sweater that greeted them in London -- "Naomi Hit Me." That's just hilarious and I admire Miss J for having the balls to pull it off, in Naomi's hometown no less!
One thing I wasn't buying in this week's episode was the whole paparazzi thing. Let's be honest, these girls would be lucky to have a few fans snap their pics, much less an entire gang of paparazzi. Plus, did anybody see the Cover Girl commercial with Naima during this week's episode? She was doing a signing at Walgreens Pharmacy. A little lame, don't you think? Walgreens is where I buy my emergency tampons. It's not a place where I expect to see "top models."
Finally, Tyra (for me at least) reached an all-time high in her annoyance level with her little story about booking a job via her passport photo. Okay Tyra, we know you're beautiful. Sooooo beautiful, in fact, that you can book a major gig simply with your driver's license. I honestly don't know what the point of that story was or the whole paparazzi theme this week. That it's not okay to ever have an ugly moment? To always wear sunglasses and make sure that no one ever sees you eating, lest the snap a picture of you being a normal person? I thought Tyra was supposed to be the "normal model," the one that was most real with uneven boobs, that we could all relate to? What the hell happened?
In next week's episode, we get to see Nicole being a stupid, uptight fuddy duddy, while Brea takes her feud with Lesbian Kim to a new level of finger snapping. Be sure to tune in.

Man, I don't get the Kim hate. It's not like Bre hasn't been talking about everyone behind their backs too. What about all the hilarious stuff she said about Lisa last week? Er, not that Lisa didn't totally deserve it. Totally a mistake a vote her off--the rest of them have no personality. I mean, Lisa peed herself last week. You can't buy that kind of excitement. Jayla's picture was terrible, and she's been terrible, and that disappoints me. While I dislike her enormously, she's the only one I'd buy as a celebrity. I can't remember the name of the one whose picture made her look "like a secretary" (said, I think, the loathesome Miss Jay. I automatically attribute anything that irritates me to Miss Jay), but I thought her picture was good. I mean, she looked like a celebrity playing dress-up as a smart girl, and they all do that.
Also, if good paparazzi photos make you a celebrity, what about Kirstie Alley or Kate Hudson, who seem to look ugly in 9 out of 10 photos?

I was gobsmacked at Lisa's elimination. They said NOTHING negative about her during the deliberations then bam. see ya! Stupid move on their part (ratings wise) but I guess she was never gonna be the top gal. I'm rooting for Kim and Nik now.
Bre is a ****ing hypocrite, and so is Jayla. Those two talk so much shit about everyone in the diary room confessional thingy and then call out Kim?? Puuuleese. Those "bitches ain't right" (said with my finger waving)

Why all the hate? Bre is the prettiest girl still in the competition and the most likeable. Nicole is irritating and does not look like a model and Nik is evil and has the same one sultry look. And Kim did like to talk about people behind their back and the pretend to be their friend when the were face-to-face and Jayla is evil and manipulative. I think Nik is going to win but I hope Bre makes it to the top two. The only thing that I agree with is the elimination of Lisa. She was the only one who knew what she was doing (even if she was crazy).

I am a little late for this but a lot of people have a problem with Tyra plugging herself on the show and i say get over it. It's her show, unknown to a lot of people, Tyra paid for a lot of the show out of her pocket. Some of the clothes the models wore in the past were hers. No one wanted to back her wwhn this show first started. UPN gave her a time slot and no money. Now that the show is a success, everyone wants to diss her for her actions, well get over it. If Oprah can plug Gail, and the view can plug all of their friends, Kelly Ripa plugs Mark and the kids, Regis has his wife, then Tyra can plug herself, her friends, her mother and her goldfish if she wants do. If you have nothing but bad things to say about the show, then turn to NBC or CBS and watch something else. As for Walgreens and models, they are one of the largest cosmetic retailers in the nation. This makes it a great place to see a top model. I live in Chicago, we have several hundred Walgreens in IL, the 1st store opened here in the 1950's, it works for us and we are the 3rd largest city in the US.

This has been the worst season of Americas next top model ever!!!. How in the world could Nicole win thats ridiculous. And why is it that all the white ass judges voted for Nicole that dam food theif. I dont mean to be racist or anything but Nicole didnt deserve that title. She always rely on pretty and thats so wrong. Instead of Bre being voted off Nicole should have been sent home, blind ass bitch could hardly read blaming the lights oo plzz bitch get an enducation. Tyra i love you , your a very strong black individual with massive potential and great acheivements but please be considerate when have such racist and prejudice judges on your show. Nik and Bre are still winners

Lisa is the one who should be the winner. She may be a little older, but she takes fantastic pictures. Also, she took a lot of abuse from her cast mates and handled it well. People have been broken down with a lot less than what she had to put up with.
As far as their personalities and the way Lisa acted, that should have nothing to do with modeling as long as they take a good picture. If they're criticized from the media about the things they do and say, that is something they will have to deal with on a personal level if they wish to address it at all. Modeling should be about modeling. Nobody is perfect.

I guess I agree with majority of the posts. Jayla was by far the NASTIEST, MEANEST, most backhanded backstabbing girl from this cycle. She would talk non stop about the other girls behind their backs. I mean...the whole Nik episode. Jayla took that way too far, blaming Nik when she was the real culprit. She is evil in all respects and that is why I don't believe that she will make it far at all modeling. You have to have a good attitude and get along with others, all qualities that Jayla is greatly lacking. I couldn't believe how she went off at Kim. Kim should have smacked her right then and there. I was literally jumping for joy when Jayla was finally kicked off! She should have gone long before that. She is average looking and a worm has a better personality than she does. Go back to waitressing Jayla!!
