PBS to launch next generation of kids' programming

curious georgePBS is taking on 24-hour childrens' networks like Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel. Next fall, PBS will launch a new channel aimed at 5 to 8 year-olds called PBS Kids Go! Think of it as an expanded version of the current afternoon programming cluster which includes Maya and Miguel, Postcards from Buster, Cyberchase and Arthur. There are also a bunch of new programs on the way, including a new cartoon version of Curious George, narrated by William H. Macy, and based on an animated movie that is coming out in late winter. It also looks as though the embattled It's a Big, Big World preschool series will make it to air after all on January 2. PBS also plans to get on board with this ever-advancing thing we call 'technology' by creating educational online videos and games.
