American Dad: Stan of Arabia: Part 2

American DadAt the end of last week's episode, we had left all the family in precarious positions. Except for Stan that is. He had lost all faith in America and declared his love for Saudi Arabia instead. Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait just a minute. Isn't this show called American Dad? On with the show!

Roger was sold by Steve, unknowingly as a wife, to an Arabian Prince. The Prince keeps wanting to consumate their marriage; Roger; however, keeps him at bay by modernizing "Arabian Nights", telling the prince stories of far-off fantastical places such as Beverly Hills and Melrose. In the desert, Steve was visited by God in the guise of Angelina Jolie (I knew it!). She shows Steve infinite wisdom and he returns to civilization as a prophet of peace, with plans that will allow Palestinians and Israelis to share the middle east. Everyone is overjoyed, that is, of course, until Steve mentions God is a woman.

Hailey is rescued by a mysterious man who claims he is part of Al-Qaeda, yet quesioning is lifestyle. Hailey thinks she talks him out of his terrorizing ways, but in the morning, finds a note saying that he has departed for the American Embassy. She finds him there, at an arabian hot dog stand. She puts him in a coma for lying to her. She's a delicate little flower folks. Meanwhile, Fran, pissed at the way Stan has been treating her there, launches into a musical number in the middle of the townsquare about the downfalls of Saudia Arabia. The song ends with the line "..If you've got a labia, stay the hell away from Saudi Arabia".

So at her sentencing, Fran is condemned to death by stoning, and in an uncharacteristic move, Stan decides that a marriage is a partnership and would rather die with his wife, then live without her. Awwww. In their last moments together, Stan and Fran find that their children have decided to join them as well. Steve and Hailey aren't there for support though, they're there as "condemned" as well. Things look awfully bleak for the family, but a last minute call from Roger's boy-toy staves the execution. The Smiths return home and are thankful for their homeland.

This was a great episode. I'm still thinking this two episode adventure could have been condensed into one, but good none-the-less. I have stared into Angelina Jolie's chest for many an hour before as well. I'm convinced the answers to the universe lie in there. In fact I'm going to go do a little research right now. I'll get back to you guys and let you know what I find.
