Yet again, we have proof that the advertisements for television shows can be so misleading it's not even funny. Between what looked like arrows put through the front end of a police cruiser (they were just markers for bullet entries), and a gun battle mixed with a scene of Warrick being thrown backwards, one might surmise that one of the guys on the show took a bullet. As it turns out, someone did take a bullet, but not who you expect - and not necessarily from a criminal, either. But even with all the drama, almost three clips of bullets fired by Brass, and a dead cop, I've got to ask - what is up with Stokes and the moustache? It's just...strange looking. It was good to hear Warrick call him "moustache man" or something along those lines while investigating - I knew we weren't all going batty. Plus, we've got Greg looking like he's auditioning for a part on CSI: Miami with those sunglasses. What was that all about?
Sofia and Brass had been out getting a bite to eat when they heard about a police chase going on, and decided to jump in the fray, a decision that they might end up regretting in the end. When Officer Bell is shot during the gunfight, no one's really sure what happened, and there are about 20 blocks worth of shell casings, bullets, skid marks, and other damage to clean up - so where to start? Greg isn't amused by drawing the figurative short straw, and is left to work backwards from the final crime scene, leaving possibly more numbered markers across the area than this show has used - in total - throughout its lifespan. But at least he gets to crack the joke of the episode, when he's told to process skid marks of the gunmen's vehicle from the road, sharing a Beavis and Butthead-esque "He said skid marks..." with an evil grin.
From the recap scenes, it most certainly looks like Sofia is responsible for downing Bell, seemingly shooting him in the back. And when Detective Ortega (Nestor Serrano) starts grilling Brass and Sofia about the case, it's not so pretty. Brass is visibly shaken at the death of an officer, and certainly doesn't appreciate being hassled. Sofia appears to have some recollections as to what might have happened, but those flashbacks aren't always what actually happened - just someone's perceptions.
The CSIs are left with the Hispanic population upset with the police for killing the shooters, and aren't sympathetic to the loss of the policeman. The cops are left with nothing else to do except hunt down the remaining criminal, who they find at a local motel on the tip of a local junkie. Just as they approach, a hooker walks out of the room, and she confirms that he's in there. But on exit of the hotel grounds, someone takes one shot at the criminal - and hits him right in the chest. And that's all she wrote, to be continued, all that jazz. In the meantime, we see a conflict between the fallen policeman's wife and the family of one of the shooters - in the morgue, no less - and the father of a boy who is shot and perhaps paralyzed, all for his bicycle, making public statements about not standing for what has happened on the streets. I'm suspicious of him as the sniper, but is that too easy of a solution? Surely we'll find out, because there's no way our guys are going to not be able to track the flight of the bullet, especially considering it struck the criminal just feet (if not inches) away from Warrick, leaving blood on his face from the exit wound.

I don't think the promos were misleading. I have seen them use those red markers before in older episodes so I knew that was them sticking out of the car. The attractions also made it look like Warrick took a punch, the only thing I misinterpreted from the commercial was I thought it was a cop that punched him.
Now Survivor is the king of misdirection. Every week they make it look like there is going to be some kind of controversial shift in alliances, when in the end the predictable result happens.

Oh yeah, I haven't been this disturbed seeing a television character in a mustache since Lee Majors had one on in a season from the Six Million Dollar Man.

I thought Greg looked really good in his sunglasses! They were so "Greg".
I agree about the moustache-it has to go

I don't believe Sophia or Brass did it, I think that bell's parnter did it, and not by accident, and Sophia may know what happened, but as blocked it from fear.

Our family watches this show constantly. We all made a comment as to how it changed his looks. It looked like they were trying to make him more "manly." We think he looks more honest without the moustache! It just doesn't look right. The show is great!

What is Eads thinking? I hate the stache. It's got to go.
Now, with that said, I didn't find the promos were misleading. If they did anything, they got me to want to watch the show even more than I usually do.

As much as I love George Eads' Nick Stokes, the stash has got to go. Ugh! What was he thinking? And yes, those shades were a bit much. They reminded me of shades someone's Grandma who lives in Florida would wear.
But I must say the episode was great. Touching, emotional, interesting. I felt for Brass, and even Sophia (I'm still on the fence with her). It was interesting seeing characters we know investigated and how they dealt with that.
Overall this season has been excellent. I like all the episodes this season and I'm so glad the team's back together (although I wish they had explained a few things along the way). I'm very happy with the way things have been going.
