You know your show is in trouble when fans are creating a drinking game to keep themselves entertained. That's what happened to Nip/Tuck this season. The game is cleverly named Sip/Suck and it has the typical "take one drink when..." and "take two drinks when...", but then it instructs players to "engage in copious vomiting when...". And, my personal favorite rule to "get out the funnel if a female character appears who is not one of the following: a porn star, a shrewish wife, a nymphomaniac police officer, a model, a sex addict, a vapid socialite." Sounds like the writers are doing a little recycling of storylines. The creator of the game and other critics say, so far, season three really sucks. Yet, others still think it rocks.

Count me as one who thinks this season sucks. It's gotten to the point where my wife and I look at the Tivo listing and groan at the sight of the Nip/Tuck episodes piling up. Maybe we'll start up again when we've watchd all the other stuff on it.
The story line with the carver is stupid. A ht nympho copy from England who is heading a Miami homicine investigation? Yeah, right. Matt's dark story line? Boooring. The new doctor .... I like him better on "Jessie" (which itself sucked after the first season).
All the elements that made this such a great, fresh show in season one are gone. I'm all for character development, but not if it makes the show a ridiculous downer to watch.
Poor Julian McMahon. He gets off tha dopey witch show and gets a lead in a great new drama. Great new drama turns into something just as stupid as the dopey witch show.

Granted this season started off great and is taking a twist into the personal lives of the characters, I don't think it calls for it to suck. The creators are trying my the views feel something for the characters to set up for what I think is something big in the end, Main character dies, maybe.
The title for this game is something to be worked on but why would someone come up with a game for something they feel isn't that good. It seems as if they came up with the game to get some action.

Behold! I am the author in question, inventor of said drinking game, and dedicated wet blanket re this season's Nip/Tuck. Sadly, I've felt the need to go even further with my killjoy antics - another Nip/Tuck update has since been posted on my blog (http://longplastichallway.blogspot.com/2005/11/niptuck-madness-continues.html) along with plenty of additional TV snark: http://longplastichallway.blogspot.com
Many thanks for the mention!

I too was a devoted fan of the show until Season 3.
What the &%$# happened with the writers? Are they gone and replaced with new stupid ones? Or are they just bad and it's only now showing? Nothing at all this season is realistic or in character. I like how Matt spits venom with every word, though. Whenever he's on we know something entertaining is about to happen. But we are wasting hours of viewing time and getting maybe 1 minute of Matt. Very disappointing season. I doubt I'll even finish watching it and I know I won't be around for Season 4 (if there is one).
Bring back RESCUE ME!

I think this season has lost steam after the last Carver episode. I understand the need to expand (Julia's new business venture for example) but the whole Anne Heche story line has been pretty boring and Gina has just been totally obnoxious. The whole jet set lifestyle of the first two seasons has vanished unfortunately.

I feel that Nip/Tuck is a horrible show. If I wanted to watch its type of porn, I would rent a movie! What a waste of these actors/actresses time and talent!
