Have you seen this week's ads for NBC's Wednesday night lineup?
"Lost is a repeat this week. So watch E-Ring and The Apprentice: Martha Stewart!"
Wow, what a weird advertising tactic. Besides, who would want to watch The Apprentice when they've missed the first 4 or 5 episodes? They'd be lost in a show like that. And isn't E-Ring on before Lost anyway? So it's not like a person has to choose between the two other weeks of the year.
Hey, I'll be watching Martha because I do every week. I like the show. I tape Lost and watch it after Martha. I'm just not sure if this sort of advertising works or not. What do you think?

I haven't seen the ad but it sounds smart. They get a dig in at ABC for playing a rerun. Also, for many people Wednesday night means Lost. Remind them that although Lost is a rerun, that doesn't mean "no tv", it means "try our tv".

I also remember one of the networks using this type of promo during a Lost rerun last season. It didn't make me want to watch the other shows, it just made me chuckle.

You can start a Mark Burnett show at any time. You probably lose some nuance, but there's so much exposition at the beginning of each episode, you pretty much get the nut of it.

Apparently, you didn't pay attention to NBC last season. They did the exact same type of promos on "Desperate Housewvies" and "CSI" a bunch of times last year.

I also remember seeing other networks doing "ER is a rerun!" promos several years ago. I dont think this is anything new, but a nice show of respect to "Lost"
