Okay, that's enough. No, seriously, stop. The phrase "bling bling" needs to be destroyed. Kill it, stuff it in a garbage bag, and bury it in the old woodshed. If I see one more commercial or television show where a person says "bling bling" I'm going to eat my television. I think what finally made me snap was hearing Travis Tritt refer to a gold token on Celebrity Poker Showdown as "some nice bling bling." He then proceeded to refer to it as "nice bling bling" about three more times. "Bling bling" isn't the first phrase black culture has introduced into the lexicon, but we tend to latch on to these phrases like a snapping turtle until there's no choice but for someone to saw our heads off so we can just let it go, already.

I take it the white culture "already" slang you ended with is ironic?

I agree. God I hate the word "Bling" and everything associated with it. I saw a commercial once (Thankfully ONLY once. I recorded it to DVD for posterity. And as a reminder in 50 years when we want to see how idiotic we used to be.) for a product with this very title. "Bling it On". The commercial featured two teenage girls "Blinging" up their cellphones, laptops, any and every electronic doo dad they owned. Frankly, I say if you are sad enough to actually think that's "cool", you don't deserve said doo dads. It is NOT cool. It isn't even REMOTELY cool. It is STUPID and a horrible fad that I hope disappears by the end of the decade. (Apparently, each decade change brings about a whole new lifestyle in the US. So I'll be glad when this one's gone.)
BLING YOU ALL TO HECK!
