I honestly don't know if this is something I hate about TV or love about TV. First off, I went to journalism school for print, and I hated the broadcast kids. Not just because of their desire to walk around (endlessly) with those big fake smiles, but mostly for their amazing ability to make things up. You'd think that by having it on film, there would be a need for accuracy, but apparently not. And I love it when they get caught "faking it to make it." Check out this video footage from NewsBusters of a Today show reporter getting busted looking like a jackass. She's in New Jersey, covering a flood story, and paddling down the street in a canoe. She's talking about how hard it is to navigate the canoe when two men walk past her and their shoes are barely even covered by the water! Matt Lauer (I love that dude) couldn't resist joking her by asking, "Are these holy men, perhaps walking on top of the water?"

LOL!! I remember seeing this. I guess in a way she was kind of telling the truth. It is hard to navagate a canoe in 6 inches of water.

Serves them right for looking like a total douche with those stupid canoes they roll out every time they do a broadcast from a mildly flooded area!
