First, the good news. Recently it was announced that the next season of The Shield would be extended to 21
episodes, eight more than any previous season. Woohoo! Well, actually, not so fast -- now, the bad news. It seems
likely that those extra eight episodes may be used to wrap up the
series, making season five its final season. Actually, while I love the show and will miss it dearly, I'm very
happy to see that they'll give it a proper sending off with those extra episodes. At least we'll all get to relive the show over on Spike TV. Good news and bad news for The Shield

I LOVE The Shield. It is really THE BEST show on TV. I only wish that they would have more episodes. Pleeeeease don't take the best show on TV off the air!Why would they even think about it?

I have watched the shield it's a good series
I thought It would be kind of neet if they mixed
(In a dream)the shield with the Matrix and have the shields lead character playing neo/they could have
have mike getting a root canal and he falls into a deep sleep that is when a matrix type cop would evolve

As much as I love the Shield, I'm glad to see a TV show calling it quits this way. Given the storyline, there's only so many times that Mackay and the boys can slip out of trouble. I'd like to see more shows actually start with a three to five year plot already sketched out. They meake the show till it ends and then they stop. Sort of like... a novel... only for TV.

I am anxious for the new season to begin. We are hosting a "SHEILD" party to watch the first Four Season's next weekend to kick off the new season.
I do dread that this upcoming season is the last, but all good things do end. When will the viewing audience have a say in what shows stay and what shows go?

I hate, hate, hate the idea of ending the Shield. It is the best thing on TV. I see the artistic desire to "come to closure" on this story, but would prefer to keep it on the air and open ended.
I've almost given up on TV as it is, ending the Shield will end my TV viewing.
