This E! Online story isn't that comforting. Seems that ABC sends out a press release every week, talking about which shows are doing well, which shows have buzz, which shows they want to plug, etc. And this past week they talked about Supernanny, they talked about Commander-in-Chief, and they talked about Freddie (!), but they didn't mention Alias at all.
Alias was ranked 70th last week, and in its time slot was beaten by Joey. Yikes.
Other tidbits in the story: Close To Home is doing worse than Judging Amy did in the same time slot last season; The Apprentice: Martha Stewart is doing better since it swapped slots with E-Ring; and the least watched show on network TV is What I Like About You, in 111th place.

Y'know, I'm not all that surprised. I'm about to give up on it myself.

ABC isn't the only one. After the first two killer seasons, the show got bizarre and boring.

If she wasn't pregnant, it would probably still be near top 20. It's just not the same...maybe post-pregnancy, she'll heat things up again...if ABC lets it go that long.

That is great that ABC is thinking of getting rid of Alias. I only briefly checked it out last week because Angel-alum Amy Acker was on the show. The show probably costs too much to produce with Garner's salary demands and the costs don't equal the ratings. Last season, it only got decent ratings because Alias came on after Lost. ABC should cancel the show at the end of the season because they have all these new hit shows and Alias is not a great show.

Well, a five years run isn't that bad for such an obvious, repetitive and illogic show (see I'm calm, I did NOT say stupid). Maybe this is also partly due to the decent shows ABC did put on air since (especially last year), they don't have to pretend Alias is that good anymore.
I'm very interested now in seeing how Abrams is going to mess up Lost (I give it a couple of months before it definitely jumps the shark), but also MI:3 in theaters (this one could be a very delicious failure IMHO).

You obviously don't understand ALIAS if you think it's illogical and/or stupid. No, it's not going to be a comfortable fit with Garner pregnant, but the show certainly beats many shows ranked much higher...in storyline, in acting, action, and suspense. I wouldn't expect it to remain highly ranked. Most of America liked Everybody Loves Raymond. Maybe your attention span is better attuned to a 30 or 60 minute, wraps-up-every-week show? ALIAS tried that last year, to bad results. They have been trying the past few years to become more middle-America friendly, which has killed the brains of the show. That, and no other reason, should be why it gets cancelled.

Yes, it's starting slowly, but I would much rather give Alias a chance than waste time on some of the other offerings... Commander-In-Chief being high on the list of "thanks, but no thanks."
