Since Larry made fun of Jesus Christ last week, it seems only (in)appropriate that this week Larry is mocking suicide. Curb Your Enthusiasm continues to prove why HBO's breeding ground of innovative shows remains one of the best reasons to watch TV. It relishes in the fact that it's horrible, and I honestly think the only comedy that is comparable to it is South Park. Neither gives a s*** who watches the, yet, like the hot girl in high school who wouldn't give you the time of day, we're mysteriously drawn to The episode starts with Larry going to his favorite Oriental restaurant and meeting his wife and their friend, Yoshi. He's greeted by the chefs with "Chicken Boy," their nickname for him, since he always orders chicken teriyaki. Larry mentions to Yoshi that their fathers are becoming good friends at the retirement home. Yoshi tells a little bit of his father's history and about how he was a Kamikaze pilot. Now, anyone who knows what a Kamikaze pilot is and who knows Larry is well aware that this is going to end badly. He ends up insulting Yoshi and his family. In total Larry mode though, he's completely unaware of it.
Later, at a poker game at Kevin Nealon's house, Kevin and his wife (Yoshi's sister) get a disturbing phone call that Yoshi tried to commit suicide. At home, Cheryl gets a "suicide email" (hey it's the 21st century - notes are so passe) from Yoshi but won't share it with Larry since he wasn't cc'ed on it. Larry goes to visit his dad at the retirement home and plays a game of bingo that he's convinced is fixed. He passes Kevin and his father-in-law and learns that Yoshi was insulted by Larry, and that's the reason he tried to commit suicide. Larry also tells Kevin that when he left the poker game, he was down, so he owes Larry a couple hundred dollars.
Kevin offers to play Larry in a game of bingo for the money and Larry accepts. Larry wins (or claims he won), and in his celebration draws the attention of all the seniors. In a misunderstanding, they all think that Larry is out to kill one of their own and they all gang up on him. In the end, though, it's Yoshi's father who fulfills his destiny of being a Kamikaze pilot by plowing right into Larry in his electric scooter.
Ha, the raunchier, the funnier. This show gets off on it's inapproprateness, and I'm glad I'm there for the happy ending.

Really fun episode. A lot of the people on the online bingo site where I play were talking about it.

While I am a huge fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm I must admit I am disappointed with this seasons episodes. Larry seems way over the top. Why is Cheryl so sour? I did enjoy the racist dog episode. It was completely saved by Wanda Sykes. Is it the writing, directing acting? What is it? It's lacking something this season and I am bummed. Does anyone agree with me?
