No, he's not coming back to The West Wing, but he is coming back to the same network.
We told you recently about his (and Thomas Schlamme's) new show about the behind-the-scenes action of a late night variety show (think Saturday Night Live, only in L.A.). NBC outbid CBS for the show, which is called Studio 7 On The Sunset Strip (boy, I hope they change that title). You can read the details of the deal at the link above, but it comes down to NBC pretty much giving them a guarantee that the show will be on the Fall 2006 sked. I, for one, can't wait.

This sounds incredibly like SportsNight, one of my all-time favorite shows. I hope it lives up to it (and original Sorkin West Wings).
