There sure is a lot of synergy in the air between TV Squad and our sister (we're really the red-headed step children of the WIN family) sites
Engadget and
TUAW going on these days. Well, when Steve Jobs talks strange things happen. In a single press conference, Apple and it's new iPod with video capability have probably taken over the market in portable media players, even though their product won't even be out for a week, and many Window's based options have been available for, literally, years. Lost purchased from the iTunes
Music Media Store.
Hop on over and check it out.

As far as the quality goes, the default export from Final Cut Pro into the iPod-friendly preset give an MPEG-4 measuring 320x213 running at 29.97 frames per second (NTSC std.) at a bitrate just shy of 700kpbs, at least in what I've done so far.
