Now, I'm not saying I want to live in a world where you put hay on the walls, but I realized today that I haven't seen hide or hair from Trading Spaces in months. Have you? All I see is old repeats.I know that Ty the spaz carpenter sold his soul to Sears, and pixie-esqe Paige Davis left as well, but is the show even coming back? They've had other hosts before Paige so I find it hard to believe it can't survive a little ship-jumping after such massive popularity.
The offical site acts like nothing is amiss, but there has been nothing about casting a new host or even commercials. Or have I missed them?

Actually, Paige Davis didn't leave, she was fired because TLC wanted to change things up and try a hostless format. I'm not sure it worked for them, though!

I think they fired Paige after a couple of "scandals" (unrelated to her marrying someone whose last name is "Page," for god's sake)--I think she posed for a men's magazine. I've heard that the original host, Alex somebody, was no peach either & threw a lot of tantrums. They also lost Vern Yip last year, who, during the year or so I watched it, had the best rooms.
Also, I think they might be premiering new episodes on Saturday nights, but I'm not going to be sad when the show fades into total irrelevance.

Presumably you are aware that "Changing Rooms", the BBC series that was the basis for "Trading Spaces", has ended production. The original host, Carol Smillie left the show and was replaced by designer Lawrence Llewllyn Bowen who hosted for a couple of years before they ended it. Maybe tastes have simply changed.

They are still churning out new shows, but purposely host-less since Paige left (Paige did not pose for a men's magazine, but had some lewd off-screen behavioral instances). I used to watch every week, but since Vern and Ty left (and now Ty-replacement Carter left for NBC's "Three Wishes") I stopped watching altogether.

They are filming an episode in the state I live in as I write, so they still are making new episodes. Whether or not those episodes are good is another story...

I would hope the show is alive as they are filming an episode down the street from here (Portland, ME). The people involved are local newscasters. All I know for sure is that Geneveve Goiter (sp?) is one of the designers. I believe they are also doing another set of neighbors here next. Also, Extreme Makover: Home Edition had been in Wells, just south of here and had their big reveal yesterday. I was kind of curious as to whether Ty would come up here to visit with his old work buddies!

They've gone to a hostless format (2 designers + 2 carpenters are enough) since Paige was canned. I was sucked into the show on and off during the weekends when it would air 15 times per day.
I recall searching for info about Paige leaving and her website (i think) said something about the show wanting to go for a different format without a host.

They've been showing 1st run shows for a few months now. The last months or so worth of shows have really been fun to watch because of the fun the homeowners are having. That shows on the screen. The rooms haven't been the big rooms in homes that really don't need a makeover at all. One show taped in Milwaukee was over a bar where the homeowners lived. I still love to watch. As for Paige, well, she the "act" she was doing was getting old & tiring to watch. I found I wasn't watching when she was on. Now I'm back to watching.
