It's finale time! We are down to three: Chris C., Princess and Liz. It seems likely that the two annoyances will cancel each other out leaving Chris as the champ. Princess thinks Liz shouldn't win because she can't make patterns or sketches but Liz does have a more classic style. The standard reality moment of having the rejecterinos come back to help brings all of the cut Cutters back and each of the final three gets to choose two helpers. Liz gets Wes and Felix, Chris C.wants James and Deanna and Princess selects Chris and Rob (what no one wants Crazy Jeff?). As usual Liz gets most of her ideas from her team while Princess listens to no one. Chris C., Princess and Liz get an audience with Jennifer Lopez and while Chris and Princess ask questions Liz basically just compliments J.Lo on being, well, J. Lo. Then we are off to the competition. Princess leaves her mannequins at a mannequin company and doesn't pick them up before they close but she charms a shop owner into giving her some mannequins and a pink leopard fur. It's a last minute rush to get everything done for all three teams.
Tommy brings Naomi Campbell with him to look at the three windows. Liz has a "sophisticated comfort" idea using a live model, Princess creates an urban chic look that Naomi Campbell approves of including a deconstructed sweater dress but her designs are just not really practical. Chris C. creates an urban travel look that combines cashmere with a sort of biker chic and it seems very Tommy. Liz's designs are the most boring but probably the most wearable. Liz gets eliminated first followed by Princess making Chris the champ. He does seem like the best fit for Tommy and really, really wanted the job. Congrats, Hatman.

to be honest, i only saw the last 2 episodes of this whole series. but after seeing the penultimate episode, i just had to watch the finale, so i could see PRINCESS LOSE!!! from the moment she talked trash about liz, i wanted her to lose. she's the kind of person who goes to school to learn to cut, sew, make patterns, etc., then expects someone to hand her a six-figure job, because she 'deserves' it. and of course, she hates people who are from some other fields (liz), who also happen to have vision, and the know-how to surround herself with good workers. princess's "everything is my vision" attitude, as well as her "i'll do everything" approach, doesn't make her a good designer. teamwork, and letting your team be "won over" by your vision, letting them contribute, and careful delegation of tasks, is what counts in the end.
that being said, i was disappointed by liz's collection, as i was rooting for her. very marketable pieces, but somewhat boring. she should've used the "couch dress" from the previous show as her dressy piece. or at least something similar. that was a beautiful design, and pretty much blew hilfiger away, that something so elegant could be made from trash.
in the end, i'm glad chris won. out of the three, i can see his ideas being very marketable with tommy hilfiger, and still have a fresh, new look, different from what's out there.
