Geraldo Rivera is so many things: journalist, adventurer, preserver of 70s mustaches. And now he's a superhero! On his show yesterday, a 71-year-old woman called his FOX News show and told him that she was trapped in her house in New Orleans. So did Geraldo call the authorities? No, he jumped into a boat and went and saved her himself! And her little dog too!
Hey, it's great and all that she's fine now, but why do I have the feeling in the back of my head that he did it more for ratings and typical Geraldo histrionics than about just getting her out? I guess my meter is always on "cynical." Sorry.

Cynicism may be a right reaction, but hey, at least he did something. That's not a comment against others. It's just cool he did something.
And I'm not a Geraldo fan at all!

Geraldo is a coniving bastard. I hate the man. He's screwed over the military more than enough times by being stupid and announcing where the troops were. The best thing that he could do is get off the air. I don't care if he helped a person or not, many other people in the news industry are doing the same and not doing it while on camera.

Geraldo is always looking out for everybody. His coverage always has the best when it comes to giving the nation the real story. I felt for all those people in the convention center when he reported from there Friday night. It reminded me of all of those Food-aid programs that show starving children from third-world countries, except this child was from America. Even when he drew out battle plans in Iraq, he meant well since he just wanted to show the viewers what was going to happen. He did disobey the US Military by doing so however. Geraldo, thanks for helping out your fellow Americans if you are reading this blog.

Does anyone have an update on how the dog is doing. It seemed that the police officer walking the dog did not notice the dog couldn't keep up with them. The poor dog was on it's back being dragged.

Check out this article. He made the old woman walk to the helicoptor twice to get a second take. He's all about making himself look good:
