Of course, when you're a producer and your name is on the product, it's easy to say that the next show is "the best by far, the best show we've done," so that hype isn't surprising. But it's a little surprising that Donald Trump himself hated the "street smarts vs. book smarts" Apprentice from last season. He didn't get to pick the contestants he wanted, and he was ticked off the whole time. This season, he had more say into who was cast.
And who is included in the cast? A "tough as nails" ex-stripper, an owner of one of those teeth-whitening companies, and an ex-NFL star. Which is odd, because Survivor: Guatemala also has an ex-NFL star in it's cast.
Apprentice 4 starts on September 22, the day after The Apprentice: Martha Stewart debuts. It's going to be hard to keep track of all these people...

NFL star? Probably not a *star*. A star would be Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Lawrence Taylor, etc.
It'll probably be some backup safety that mostly played special teams from last years 49ers since he's now out of a job.

He's right. Last season of the Apprentice absolutely sucked. At least on the other 2 seasons you could see Trump hiring some of these people, but this past season they were so awful that some of them seemed underqualified to work at a Denny's.

Funny how after the season sucks Trump says "I hated it too, I didn't get to pick the cast." Did he ever mention that at the beginning of the season? I would be willing to bet miraculously that if the show had done well we would have discovered that he hand picked every single one of them. The man's not stupid, he knows when to play to the media. Burnett falls right in line, too, and takes the hit. "Yup, it was our fault for not letting Mr. Trump pick the cast..."
Now that he's announced that he picked them, it'll be interesting to see what happens if the season still sucks. Will he try to rewrite history?
