I have really enjoyed the show for the past few years but it's becoming harder to admit after the last two new episodes. Last week's ep (which I just saw yesterday) was basically themed "Battle of the Reality Hasbeens" with The Apprentice's famous witch queen Omarosa and a bevy of annoying, obnoxious, ignorant and nonsensical attitude-filled freakazoids like Survivor's Jonny Fairplay (who I had never heard of before today). It was a painful two hours that found me fast forwarding on TiVo a lot. The fight for fifteen more minutes was never more desperate or sad. Mostly just sad.
Tonight's new episode was much better as it had actual bonafide celebrities. I love Howie Mandel and Bryan Cranston from Malcom in the Middle, but it was cursed with entirely too much Meatloaf. I never liked his large hackneyed butt to begin with but him making weird jokes, screaming manically, challenging other players to play out hands he'd folded on, talking about himself in the third person (referring to himself as "Meat") it was almost enough to make me take up reading books. Ugh. I would do anything... to stab him in the eye with a fork.
It's really just too bad there's only a "Loser's Lounge" and not a "Loser's Oubliette". At least the most obnoxious players will be absent at the winner's round.
Next week is girl's night with an all-chick table including the likes of Kathy Najimy and Rosie O'Donnell. Looking forward to it already. The ladies are always much more entertaining to watch.

Ok, I'll give you that. Dave Foley was on fire (painful fire, you could tell he wanted to smack the SOB too) and I'm just thankful Fairplay didn't hear a word of it or it never would have ended.

Actually, I thought the reality star episode of the show was absolutely hilarious. But only for the endless amount of pained and evil comments made by Dave Foley during the evening. My favorite was when he described Johnny Fairplay this way: "Imagine Andy Dick if he wasn't gay and wasn't funny."
