Britney Spears apparently went on an after hours shopping spree for what rumors say will be a baby boy. What drew me to this story was not Britney, or her spawn, or the fact that she has the celebrity clout to demand Petit Tresor in Beverly Hills stay open just for her, but the fact that she spent $10,000 on baby stuff. I don't shop at many Beverly Hills boutiques, so maybe that's not much money, but I'd like to hear what a "real" non-rich mother would purchase with that kind of dough. Heck, you could probably buy your kid another sibling for that.

Not a mom but a new Dad myself. My son is now 6 months old and even this far into it I couldnt imagine what the @#$% kind of stuff anyone would spend 10k on. Even a high end Eddie Bauer car seat a "JEEP" stroller and John Lennon sheet set wouldn't come to nearly 5k, let alone 10.

A visit to www.petittresor.com will reveal how easily you could spend $10K. $750 for a stroller, $2200 for a crib, etc. It adds up pretty fast at a high-end boutique. Those of us in the real world, however, spend $25 on an umbrella stroller, $150 on a crib, etc.
