Crown Media Holdings, the owner of the Hallmark Channel, is looking to put the cable network up for sale or license it's operations to a third party. The network, known for it's family-safe programming, is the sole cable asset of Crown, and that's part of the reason the company is now putting it on the block. I predict a near-future sale to NBC Universal and thus a push to get the channel into basic cable packages. NBC could snipe ABC's *ABC Family Channel* with it. Then again, maybe Comcast will bid for the channel, replace the management, and drive the whole channel into the ground like they did with TechTV and claim success. You never know... :)
