NBC has released the names and bios (click here for photos!) for the sixteen Martha wannabes. The show starts September 21 at 8.
Among the contestants who Martha will be yelling at: Dawna, 37, the publisher of Her Sports magazine; Marcela, 27, a cooking instructor, and that might make for some fireworks when she tells Martha her souflee isn't fluffy enough; David, a MENSA member and owner of his own successful web company (he invented AIM Talk for AOL Messenger); and Betthany, a natural foods chef.
The cast is actually rather impressive and varied, so this might be fun.

The cast all seem to share one thing in common--they're extremely gifted and talented and all apparently geniuses.
Who will become THE NEXT APPRENTICE...stay tuned...?

Apparently, over twenty-five percent of the contestants on "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" are homosexuals. This would make one wonder where Martha is coming from. Isn't this a rather high percentage of gays on this show? Does Martha put up a "hetro front" with her own boyfriends Charles Simonyi and Edd Townsend or is she the same type as those selected elite twenty-five percent?

The bio for two of sixteen mention living with a partner which might mean that they are gay. Nine mention that they are married, which might mean that they are straight. Five do not state who they are living with. 25% of 16 = 4. Maybe the percentage is actually larger than 25%. Perhaps it takes one to know one?
The other thought that comes to my mind is that these people were picked because of their talents and proven success. I'm surprised if there is only 25% gay.

Is the last commentator serious?...do we have homo thresholds now? Perhaps the make up of the cast reflects the education and background that it takes to do the job. It also reflects Martha's target audience. All in all it is a good cast line up. Well done!
