According to reports The Sopranos will return for one final, if shortened season, in early 2007. Initially the hit HBO series was to end after this upcoming season but creator David Chase was apparently "reinvigorated" after last season's reception. These final two seasons will produce a total of 20 episodes, with 12 airing up until May, 2006 and then the final eight beginning in January, 2007 as part of a "bonus season". All 20 episodes, though, will be filmed at one time.
