Big Brother 6: Veto #5, or The Season of Veto Domination

big brother 6Reminder: Today is the last day of voting. Don't forget to vote Kaysar back in the Big Brother House!

If you want James out of the house, you have to stick him in the hot seat after someone else if vetoed out of the hot seat, because the guy just keeps on winning veto competitions. Of course, last night's competition was a variant of one they've done in previous seasons. Synopsis: Here are X number of The Item (this time candy). You must place a piece of candy in at least two of the (this time) pinatas representing two separate HouseGuests. You can put candy in as many pinatas as you like and you can give each pinata as many pieces of candy as you like. Whichever HouseGuest is closest to 20 pieces of candy without going over wins. If memory serves me correctly, in previous seasons it has played out exactly the same way: the majority of the players over-think the challenge, with only one or two thinking "load up the one we don't want to win," and as a result, the person who everyone least wants to win the veto wins the veto. This week, that was James, who received 18 pieces of candy, after Ivette loaded him up, thinking everyone would be loading him up. Wrong, and the mistake may cost Ivette her seat in the house. Read after the jump for more...

April has become my least favorite HouseGuest. She's always talking smack and lying to both the other HouseGuests and to herself (for example of #1, the episode where she told Janelle that she's always liked her; example #2, the episode where she told everyone that she wasn't really a smoker even though she looked like a chimney). In last night's episode, she volunteered to be James's replacement after the veto should he win it, with the group plan that Sarah would be voted off, but then when she was speaking one on one with Ivette, she started saying that maybe Ivette should go up instead and caused an argument between them. Then she went back to Howie, Rachel, and the Friendship and started highlighting Ivette's friendship with Jason and trying to poison the entire group against Ivette with talk about her being unpredictable and saying that Sarah wasn't a threat. Howie seemed to fall for it too, as he put up Ivette next to Sarah. There's every chance that Ivette will go on Thursday, and I'm not heart-broken about it, as she's, next to April, my least favorite player. It would be rather funny if Ivette got kicked out and Eric came back in and her separation (from her pseudo-replacement-daddy and idolized deity, Cappy) were prolonged.

James and Sarah did a good job of lying to everyone's face on the non-Friendship team, telling them that they never brokered the Howie and Rachel deal / back-stab that landed them in the hot-seats this week. Particularly funny was when Sarah and James retreated to the Gold Room alone after this cascade of lies, Sarah asked James if he did actually swear on the Bible and then started hitting him, saying "Why did you do that? I told you not to talk to people!" and then pointing out that this was all a huge game-mistake on his part. It was good to see her show some backbone for a change.

In any case, I am eager to see what happens on Thursday. Who do you think is out? Ivette or Sarah? Who do you think is back in? Please share in the comments.
