Fans of smart comedy will be thrilled to know that two brilliant shows will be coming together when Ricky Gervais, who played boss David Brent on the smash BBC sitcom The Office will pen an entire episode of The Simpsons. In the episode, Gervais will play his character from The Office who swaps wives with Homer for a reality show. Matt Groening was such a fan of The Office he asked Gervais to write the episode. Why can't Groening be a fan of me? I'd at least draw a tree or something for Life in Hell. Gervais to write Simpsons episode

Wow, I thought nothing could ruin The Office for me, but this just might do it. Simpsons has stunk on ice for nearly a decade now.
