L.A. Law, Ally McBeal, Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, and Boston Legal guru David E. Kelley says that there are so many commercials in an hour on the networks nowadays (19 minutes compared to around 12 minutes in the late 80s) that Kelley says he might move to cable in the future.
If his recent work (The Brotherhood of Poland, NH, the half hour Ally spinoff, Girls Club) is any indication, maybe he should go to cable. But not HBO or FX. He should just keep going, maybe over to The Weather Channel or Animal Planet.

I visited Poland last winter and they don't have near the commericals as here. They also run most of their commericals at the very end of the show, not scattered in between the program.

Commercials? Does anyone watch those anymore? I timeshift almost everything so the only time I see commercials is during breaking news or sporting events. Now when someone goes, "you know that commercial where..." I can harrumph and say, "No, I don't watch commercials anymore, luddite."
Now if only I could timeshift talk radio. (And no, podcasts aren't there yet.)

im so sick and tired of every 5 minutes having to put up with commercials on tv! the advertisments in my opinion have ruined tv. its like having a little bit of programming between mostly commercials! i very rarely watch tv for this reason. the greed has destroyed it. forget watching a decent movie. how can you enjoy a good movie when its interrupted every 5 or 10 minutes with the same usless boring ads? tv needs to limit its advertising before more ppl get sick of it and turn it off for good!
