This week's performance episode sees a few contestants changing their look and their style a bit. Tara certainly came out a lot more hard rock this week, both Neal and Brandon strapped on a guitar, and Daphna pulled her hair back. J.D. does another of his unique arrangements on an Alanis Morrissette song (and throws in a little love note to INXS by saying he has always loved their songs). Deanna didn't enjoy singing "The One I Love" and it showed. The comments tonight seemed even more forced than usual, I think they need to lose that segment. I like J.D.'s arrangements and hope it's getting him some proper credit. I am assuming that the winner's ultimate career will involve doing original songs and arrangements, and not just covers. I just hope that his comments like "...not to diss the other contestants..." don't end up screwing him in the long run.
You're right, the whole "That was awesome, I loved it" feedback sequence is useless. Although they have come up with some original things -- like when they brought JD back for an encore, or when they offer criticism like "You're the first one to acknowledge the band. As *the band*, we appreciate that in a lead singer." Good point!

I absolutly love Jordis, she has class, she rocks, and she's just great on stage (for all of the 22 years she is). I think Tara just didn't have it. I wouldn't be suprised to see her go.
