For all of this show's rocker cred, the judging is like American Idol lite. INXS and Dave Navarro are so earnest in their criticisms that there is not a bit of snark in the whole process. Can a show like this work without that little touch of evil? Tonight's performances were as solid as the previous night's with standouts being Brandon doing his version of the Black Crowes's "Hard to Handle," Jordis singing "Heart-Shaped Box" and Ty singing Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker." Some of the contestants seem more interested in doing an impersonation than a unique performance with Neal as Mick Jagger the younger version, Mig doing a Broadway-inspired young Elvis-like bump and shimmy and Suzie doing her version of Blondie. Also, while I adore Dave Navarro it does seem that he gives extra love to the hot chicks. A question for my fellow Rock Star watchers, do you like the hyped-up live audience or is it a distraction?Rock Star: INXS: Episode 2

The idea of this show turned me off a bit at first, but I watched and did find it entertaining. The one thing that stood out for me was the guy who did Take Me Out-- his stage presence was very good, but the arrangement was AWFUL. The song is made by the transition between the opening, fast, indie rock bit and the funky bit. They sorta just chucked that completely.
On the whole, i find the audience less irritating than the Idol audience. They seem a bit more genuine. Of course, I like this show better than Idol already, just by virtue of the fact that they sing better songs.

I liked this show from the start, and Jordis has become a favorite after seeing her perform Heart Shaped Box. I was cringing though during the very "Idol-like" comments following each performance. Note to the producers: Please nix this aspect of the show. You didn't do it in the first episode, and I liked that. Plus, cutting this out would leave more time to broadcast performances.
It's a fun show, and I'll probably watch to the end.

I'm pretty impressed surprisingly. I'm not a big fan of American Idol since the first one, so I figured this show to be a dud - because who cares about INXS? But I surfed on to it last night and caught the last 45 mins.. and loved it. I was impressed with the singers but also the "foo fightering" of the classic songs. I'm looking forward to future shows.

Since MTV and MTV2 - don't play videos anymore, and they certainly aren't going to be playing fab rock music in the first place...this was nice to watch. Hot guys and girls, screaming their little hearts out to classic (read: not old, really, really good) hard rocking songs is a good hour spent on a hot summer night.
Still, the comments were really lame...we don't need them.

I think the audience is a great thing. They are looking for a front man(woman) for a band and bands make their money touring. This person is going to have to keep people coming to concerts! They need to have good stage and audience interaction. I like it!! But I agree, Nix the comments. Let people vote and let the band make the comments when they pick the one to go!

The show is far better than I expected! The talent is
unreal,Jordis and TY are my early favorites. The first show had a much better fromat. The live performances and seeing the comments of INXS as they spoke during the performances was the best part of the first show. The second episode was more like watching American Idol (huge turn off).
Go back to the format of the first show!
I will continue to watch anyway, the performances are too good to miss!

Yeap, but that audience is not real. They cheer cause they have to. They are invited to go to a show, and they are guided to cheer in one or another moment. Anyways cool show...

I kinda like it. Something similar but different to what's out there or been out there.
I'm probalby wrong, but what's the woman's name with all the tattoos and black hair? Heather? Wasn't she just on Coule's Fear Factor?
Who knew she was a rocker too!

Love, love, love the show. The only thing I liked about American Idol was the two "rockers". So, I tuned in. Wow! Great songs, very talented performers! I agree about the comments....go back to the format of the first show. I will be a faithful viewer either way. More, more, more!

They might as well announce that jordis is their new lead person after her performance of Heart shaped box. If they need someone to portray Janis Joplin and sing her own songs she is the one.

I am not a big reality TV show (I have only watched one or two over the last 3 years...can't stand Survivor, Big Brother etc. etc.) and when I heard about this show a month ago I thought it sounded equally awful. I happened to be flipping channels and caught the premiere. I gave it a chance because I liked the "rocking" element. This is a totally entertaining show! I'm totally impressed with the talent (though some definitely don't connect with me as much as others). It's just pure escapist fun. No shame on my part.
