Entourage leads the list of TV shows I haven't gotten around to watching yet, but I've been a big fan of Jeremy Piven since One Crazy Summer, Grosse Pointe Blank and Cupid. He gives an interview to Channel Guide magazine where he discusses everything. Well, not everything. There's nothing about nuclear physics or knitting in the interview, but he does talk about Old School, why he doesn't have his own entourage, and why yelling "cheese" at him makes him really angry. Cheese makes Piven angry

I like Entourage, which is actually surprising since I'm not very interested in the Hollywood "star culture," in general. It's a funny show about a group of guys who are just like any group of friends aside from the fact that one is a star. It's like Swingers without the struggling part. And Piven is great, as usual.
I didn't see the show regularly last year, but I've seen them all so far this season. It seems to me that Apple has suddenly become quite prominently featured. There is some apple product in a large number of scenes, including all the computers at talent agency. Also, characters have spent time in an Apple store in two of the three shows so far this season. Is this new? Or was it this way last year as well?

Tony: I haven't seen the show yet (I gotta get the DVDs soon), but I know that Apple has been a huge prescence in TV shows and movies for years. It's one of their main types of marketing their stuff, getting the buzz going.

Don't forget about his movie PCU with David Spade. One of the funniest movies I have ever seen. He was hilarious in it. If you haven't seen it, you should, or didn't know what you were watching. It was on Comedy Central constantly a few years ago.

May set designers will use Apple products because they are attractive, though I've noticed Alias covering the apple logo with a red dot.

Bob & mito,
I know a lot of shows and movies use apple (off the top of my head Sex and the City, You've Got Mail, and Legally Blonde come to mind -- weird that those are all relatively "girly" shows/movies). And I know that anytime you see a logo, usually a company paid to have it there. But, what I've noticed so far with Entourage has really been way over and above what I've seen elsewhere. Not only is there an apple on screen during nearly every shot inside the agency, but the apple store was written into the script on two of the episodes.
Maybe this is a case of me being more aware, since I recently added a Mac to my computer collection (like when you learn a new word and suddenly see it everywhere), but really I've always been a tech junkie, and I look out for that stuff.

Well, it's not the timing of the article that made it interesting, just that fact that it was an interview with Piven (and we want to cover Entourage more here!)
