Our pals over at PVR Wire have uncovered that Cliff Huxtable, Bill Cosby's wisecracking patriarch, has been voted the TV dad most people would have wanted as a father growing up. I suppose having Cliff as a father for one day might be interesting, but I think I'll stick with my own dad, since he's much more succinct than Mr. Huxtable could ever be:
Me: Dad, did I get any mail today?
Cliff: Ya see the thing with the mail is that ya gots to walk to the mailbox and there's the rain and the sleet and the snow and the tiny pants that the mailman wears with the dogs barkin' and ya gotta wait fer up ta six weeks for delivery of the Jello Jigglers--
Me: Where's my gun?

Avuncular? Does an 'suggestive of an uncle' patriarch make any sense? :P

I know what "avuncular" means, geesh. And, as a person, I would describe Cliff Huxtable as such. However, the placement of the word in the post is a bit confusing, so I'll give you that. And the word is now gone. Just don't question my motives ever again. ;)
